Today, my intern @Forensic_Ghost and I conducted an interesting digital forensics investigation at HIVE Consult.
I recently purchased a Nikon camera for our Digital Forensics and Investigation training, and surprisingly, the 16GB SD card that came with it contained over 455 photographs dating as far back as 2009 with images captured across 2015, 2016, 2018, and through to 2025.
As part of today's practical exercise, we selected a photograph from 2015 and conducted a reverse image search using Google. Interestingly, we were able to identify the location depicted in the image: the Southern Steps and Huldah Gates, located along the southern wall of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Israel.
This was a fascinating demonstration of how digital forensics and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) can complement each other during investigations.
The biggest lesson? Deleting files or disposing of storage devices does not necessarily mean the data is gone forever. Digital evidence can survive for years, and even a single photograph can reveal valuable investigative leads.
You need to properly wipe your SD cards before selling. To my photographers, please take note⚡️
At HIVE Consult, we believe cybersecurity and digital forensics are best understood through practical, real-world investigations.
Every digital artifact has a story. The investigator's job is to uncover it.🔍💚

Imagine praising God for a scam while forgetting digital forensics exists. Every keystroke is evidence and investigators don’t miss.
Imagine checking into a hotel and finding out someone thought your privacy was optional. That’s not just illegal, it’s pathetic!

Think deleting a file makes it vanish? In digital forensics, that’s just the beginning of the story….🔍

to that nigga rebuilding quietly, your time is coming bro. stay locked in.
Selling, donating or discarding a device? Deleting files or quick-formatting may leave data recoverable. My pendrive analysis found 2,187 deleted-file entries. Protect your privacy follow the manufacturer’s secure-erasure guidance first. #DigitalForensics #DataPrivacy
"Ukraine has struck two of Russian tech giant Yandex’s data centres this week, in retaliation for Moscow’s attacks on its own IT facilities as the air war widens to target the systems that underpin each country’s economy.
Yandex, often referred to as “Russia’s Google”, confirmed a drone attack on its largest data centre, in central Russia’s Kaluga region, in the early hours of Friday. The previous night, another data centre in the Ryazan region, also in central Russia, was attacked, Yandex said.
The Kaluga strike 'completely knocked out several modules of the data centre', Yandex said. Its shares fell about 4 per cent on the Moscow Exchange following the hit."

Gbam… This is it.
The guy noticed her reaction was off, asked her subtly, she spoke about it, let out a loud laugh like babe, as how nah and that was it.
Yet some will be forming bulldozer “if you don’t talk I will also pretend I didn’t notice your reaction”
