Yup, I’ve been using msi for a while and even bought my mom an msi because I was happy with it, but the issue with msi is they have different tiers of build quality . If an msi has a plastic case, avoid, but aluminum ones are usually good. Tho if you want an actual lap laptop, even 4060 and 5060 series gpu’s with lower wattage will get warm. I’m not sure about 5050s, at that point I think it’s up against the spark or amd strix halo.
Thanks i appreciate that, I don’t know everything, but for work i know a decent amount. The 10 series was king, rtx 20 was garbage, rtx 30 was better, 40 was great, 50 has been a disappointment from a hardware standpoint, but much improved software tho i refuse to use frame generation because the games only register movement on real frames, but non frame gen DLSS is great.
Happy gaming.
Happy gaming to you as well. I’ve seen the spark reviews and it seems like it needs more work before it can replace a discrete laptop gpu. That’s unfortunate you had rma issues, I haven’t had RMA issues with that , but I did with my Asus products, I’ve been very disappointed with their RMA.
It’s my old work laptop… it uses full 170ish watts gpu cards are capable of. So they say the performance level of a laptop gpu is a step down from the desktop version, so a 3080ti is like a 3070/3070ti desktop gpu. Playing games at 1400p and mostly high settings and balanced dlss was easy most of its lifespan. I replaced it last year, and wasn’t having issues running anything, my desktop runs things better, but I was perfectly happy with 1440p 60fps when using it.
That said it had terrible battery life so it wasn’t for truly portable gaming, just wherever i could plug it in.
Cooling/ heat saturation is the reason for the lower wattage and not all laptop cooling is created equal. That msi titan has quite good cooling so I didn’t run into issues.
My desktop is/was my primary pc gaming work device, but I was very happy with the performance I got out of that laptop before replacing it.

Yea, while I have a newer laptop, even my old 3080ti laptop can still run games great. The only games I’ve had problems with were UE5 games, and those were common ue5 issues that usually get patched.

Nice 👍🏼, I have something similar just no wire management on mine 😂 . I’m 45 and it’s great being an older gamer because you can actually afford the stuff you want.

For anyone with certain medical conditions, it’s been incredibly helpful. When I was going thru cancer it was annoying af it wasn’t legal.

🌱 HAPPY LEGALIZATION DAY 🌱
It’s now been EIGHT years since federal legalization; a plant has not collapsed society, reefer madness never took hold, police focus on more important things, and we let adults choose how to live their lives.

I’ve got too many games I’m really enjoying to play it!!! Eventually I’ll get there, but damn I’m already having tons of fun with Valor Mortis, Castlevania and SW Galactic Racer. I usually don’t like having multiple games on the go, but after these I still have Gears and Dawnwalker to play.
