Georgia audited its own data center tax breaks and found that the state gave up $474 million in sales taxes in one year—and got back just $41 million from the industry. At least 38 states have deals like this. (It's not clear whether all that money the state waived was needed to attract the construction: in Georgia's case, by the state's own estimate, 70% of the data center construction would have happened anyway.)

Envision a market place where cult leaders could buy and sell each other's cult members, enabling, small mom and pop cults to take their cultists to market and get paid. Also, a Cult Outfitter store would be nice. Like Tractor Supply, but for the religion industry.

Today's @ArkansasOnline editorial makes the same point I made in a column re: the failed gutting of FOIA in the regular session. It is cynical in the extreme to tell Arkansans that they should give up their superior right to government information to be more like other states.

Maybe the reason he’s been indicted for so many felonies is that he’s a lifelong criminal and breaks the law constantly.

This outrage should absolutely be a national story and a cause for journalistic solidarity. Shame these people … Police stage 'chilling' raid on Kansas newspaper, seizing computers, records and cellphones kansasreflector.com/2023/08/…

We have asked KATV to correct false & incomplete reporting.
What KATV did NOT report:
She refused to stop and reached 115 mph.
She passed at least two OTHER hospitals.
ASP NEVER charged her with a felony.
Sensationalism over journalism is dangerous.

For @SarahHuckabee to say she wants Arkansas' FOIA to be "in line with other states" is like saying she wants our traffic to be like New Jersey's and our water to taste like Nevada's. Our FOIA is better; @DavidARay's bill is designed to make it worse. Please don't do it, #arleg.
I should have followed my cats lead and ignored the tornado sirens.
The tornado warning has been lifted for Pulaski County and replaced with a Severe T’storm Warning.. The strongest of this storm will stay south of LR, heading east from Hensley to England.
Sirens are still going off, but Little Rock is NOT in a tornado warn. #ARwx #ARStormTeam

Sarah Huckabee seems like she would eat fish right out an aquarium. Like you would just walk in the room and catch her eating your fish.
