At the @councilofdc's “Technology in Schools” Hearing, @noahdougherty of @DC_Charters emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with student safety, privacy, and well-being.
From listening to educators and families to preparing students for a future shaped by AI, his testimony reinforced the need for thoughtful, responsible approaches to technology that reflect the needs of every school community.
The decisions made today will shape how #DC students learn for years to come.

10 years of moving DC education forward! 🎉
Congratulations to @edforwarddc on a decade of investing in #DC students, schools, educators, and the organizations working alongside them.
We’re proud to be coalition partners and even prouder to celebrate this milestone together. Here’s to the impact already made and everything still ahead for DC students!
Behind every strong school community is leadership that keeps students at the center.
This National Principal Awareness Month, we’re celebrating #DC principals for the countless ways they lead, listen, problem-solve, and create opportunities for students and educators every single day.
Here’s to the leaders helping #DCStudentsSucceed.👏
#DC isn’t just recovering. It’s showing what recovery can look like.
From leading the nation in post-pandemic Math and Reading growth to building on years of academic progress, D.C. students are proving that declining achievement is not inevitable.
As CEO of Accelerate, Kevin Huffman, highlights, that progress didn’t happen overnight. And it’s worth building on.

#DC students are taking center field. 🏈
A $1 million investment from @Gatorade is helping expand Girls’ Flag Football across DC schools giving more students the chance to compete, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and find their voice.
For Taniyah Vincent, a junior and quarterback at @IDEA_PCS, that opportunity is already making an impact.
An investment in the game is an investment in the girls who will lead beyond it.

The path to graduation should prepare students for more than a diploma - it should prepare them for what comes next.
With new graduation requirements approved by @DCSBOE, #DC students will see changes to the high school experience, including a greater focus on real-world skills and more flexibility in how they earn credits.
More pathways. More practical skills. More possibilities.🎓

Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth!
This month, #DCStudentsSucceed celebrates the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across #DC.
We’re proud to honor the voices that continue to shape our schools and inspire future generations.
What makes students want to show up? Sometimes, the best people to ask are the students themselves.
Six @SeatonDC Elementary students sat down with #DC education leaders to share what makes them feel connected, supported, and like they truly belong at school.
Their message was clear: belonging matters. And when we listen to students, we can build schools they want to be part of.

25 years later, we remember the lives, the families, and the futures forever changed by #9/11.
And here in #DC, we remember six of our own: students Asia Cottom, Bernard Brown, and Rodney Dickens, and teachers Hilda Taylor, Sarah Clark, and James Debeuneure.
Forever in our hearts. Forever part of our city’s story.🤍
