The Fox and Anchor isn't in Westminster – it featured on our recent Clerkenwell map – but it gets an honorary mention because it was rebuilt in 1898, and it deserves a visit for its ravishing Art Nouveau stoneware façade

And in true pub quiz style, you can have half a point if you're a year out either way: the Dog and Duck in Soho was refitted in 1897, and the Salisbury on St Martin's Lane was constructed in 1899. All the pubs in this thread can be found on this map: felt.com/map/Pubs-of-1898-or…

The @MarxLibrary was founded in 1933, in a building with a suitably radical history: the former home of William Morris’s radical publishing house, and Iskra, the Russian revolutionary newspaper, which Lenin wrote and edited in the building.

It's good to see these proposed improvements for walking and cycling at Curtain Road in Shoreditch 👍🏻 @TfL are running a consultation on the changes until 21 February, so please let them know what you think. Some comments and suggestions... haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/shore…

How about installing continuous footway across the side roads entering the southern part of Curtain Rd? This would be a big benefit to pedestrians. (Example pictured from elsewhere in Hackney)

There's a missing bit of the Footways network on this part of Great Eastern Street: a crossing to help pedestrians get from Charlotte Rd to Leonard St. How about an additional crossing to fill in the gap in the walking network?
