Fire officials were subpoenaed amid an investigation involving spending and overtime. That does not establish wrongdoing involving Fire Station No. 1 or its financing.
Meanwhile, the 2024B bonds run through 2054 and financed Fire Station No. 1-related facilities, fire apparatus and issuance costs.
Necessary fire protection is one thing. Taxpayers should demand answers about every extra financed for decades.
