Laval put together an exhibition schedule as they were trying to get their program started that year. It really wasn’t that different from the one @FootballSFU were proposing for this year. And independent nonconference schedule.
Here is a video of current SFU football players/alumni winning the tug-o-war and solidifying their repeat in the Charity Summer games! Great even to raise money @sfufbalumni @pfys104
Way to go @lepine_dakota @FreshGlove_10 @jean_pitte
Kudos to the current SFU football players, who even though have had their year cancelled and going through difficult times.. still come out to support local charity and the @sfufbalumni @lepine_dakota @FreshGlove_10 @jean_pitte Congrats on #1 @PYCS104

This is just unreal… #SaveSFUFootball
FOI records reveal details behind SFU's decision to cut its football program: While Simon Fraser University said publicly on Feb. 1 that the Red Leafs would play football in 2023, it was quietly drawing up the game plan to sack the 58-year-old program. dlvr.it/SrNW3D

WOW‼️ Just when I thought the @FootballSFU situation couldn’t possibly any worse, this comes out. Completely agree w @FarhanLaljiTSN sentiment here. The handling of this situation has been TERRIBLE 💯💯💯😡
Reading this makes me angry all over again. Underhanded, hypocrisy, incompetent. Sad they had to get exposed before being forced into a legitimate (we hope) process. #SaveSFUfootball @sfufbalumni
Everyone has been told June 1st until the locker room opens back up to student athletes! 2 more sleeps until these friends can get back in there:) Fingers crossed #SaveSFUFootball

We trust in the advisory process that SFU has engaged with and wait for next steps for 2023 and 2024. The admin also established a single point of contact for students so messaging can be from one source. This is vital to reestablish trust.

SFU admin told football student-athletes they’ll have access to the locker room on June 1st. After mixed messaging and inaction by athletic admin, many of the concerns are clearer and a new process established. This is hopefully another step forward.
Now I want to know why they didn’t open it today? Why wait? @drjoyjohnson #SaveSFUFOOTBALL
Hopefully everyone had a great weekend! The mama 🐻s here would like @SFUFootball to have something to look forward to. @drjoyjohnson you’re giving us the locker room and S&C this week. Next can we get back on the field with some coaching so we’re ready for safe contact?!
Good news!!!!! Strength and conditioning, as well as being around the team will be so great for all the athletes! #SaveSFUFootball
