It is time to start making ume-syrup. 400g of plums, 400g of rock sugar. Cover with an airtight lid (I just use plastic wrap), store in a cool, dark place. That’s it. Let it sit for about a month, and you have a tasty and traditional "lemonade-esque" base to add to soda!

Beautiful photo! Seeing this makes me miss the sweet, big Daikon I harvested from my garden in Hanyu this winter. Homegrown is the best! ✨
This #WorldWetlandsDay, let’s put the spotlight on Hokkaido’s Red-crowned Crane Conservancy! Since 1988, they've been proactively tracking Japan's majestic red-crowned cranes 🪽, protecting their habitat & promoting human-wildlife coexistence!

Do you have your Ehomaki (恵方巻き) ready for tonight? The direction is South-Southeast (南南東) for 2026!
On Setsubun (節分) we eat ehomaki, a large rice roll of various tasty items. A tradition originating in Kansai, it spread all over the country!

Good evening friends.
I ate the nabe(hotpot) tonight.
I often make nabe with fresh fish when my daughter doesn’t need dinner.
My daughter actually doesn’t like fish.
Today’s dinner
“Ankō nabe”
Of course, I enjoyed ojiya too😄

The 'HIDDEN PATHS-Walking Historical Kyoto' ad is now active on the Viator/Tripadvisor site. Only one walking route 'product' up at the moment. But plenty of different routes available, for info get in touch. Cheers. #Kyoto viator.com/tours/Uji/Walking…

I just got home after a short trip to Tohoku on the Shinkansen. Thanks to the Shinkansen, domestic travel has become much faster and convenient. I prefer domestic travel by Shinkansen over airplanes. All you need to do is buy a ticket and you can just sit comfortably in your seat
