I know mac users don't have this issue, but for windows users: you shouldn't be installing fonts directly into the fonts folder.
Use a font manager like fontbase. Just put all your typography in a single folder, link it to the manager, and you can toggle fonts on and off with one click.
If a font file happens to be corrupted, installing it directly risks ruining your windows base fonts and corrupting your photoshop/illustrator. Having too many fonts installed makes your software laggy and miserable to use.
Just turn the fonts on when you are working on a specific design, and toggle them off when youre done. The files don't take up much space so you can keep them, just don't leave them installed eternally.
⚠️ Our database provider Supabase is currently having some technical issues. FontBase login might nor work for some users. We continue to monitor the situation and will update as soon as this is recolved.
For the latest FontBase update we were required to change our signing certificate for Windows. Unfortunately, this causes an error during the update.
If you are getting this error, please download a new version of FontBase from our website manually.
⚠️ Login may be not working for some users as our primary database provider Supabase is currently down. We hope the issue gets resolved quickly.
If you are having issues with the latest 2.24.4 update, please refer to this forum topic forum.fontba.se/t/fontbase-2… for a temporary solution while we investigate this further.

Typography is one of the most important elements in graphic design.
When we create our work digitally, fonts become a key part of the process.
While creative software helps us bring our ideas to life, one of the most powerful (and often overlooked) tools in a designer’s toolkit is a font management app, something that helps us organise, discover, and stay in control of our type library.
Looking for a smarter way to manage your fonts?
Meet FontBase, a clean, fast, and powerful font manager that makes organising and activating your fonts effortless.
In this quick video, I’ll give you a fast overview of FontBase, show you what it can do, and why it’s become a core part of my design workflow.
Let’s jump in and see how this works!

Remember the IDEO font map? Well, it's gone and not available anymore for quite some time now.
But guess who's doing a better (hopefully) version of it?
Font family page updates in FontBase! Here's what you may have missed:
1. Improved style selection. The select dropdown is now on top of the page. Double clicking a style now navigates to the Waterfall tab directly.

FontBase is a really cool program for syncing and managing fonts between systems. I can set up a Dropbox/Google Drive folder to store my fonts and access them across systems. Good stuff now that I'm working between multiple systems. fontba.se/
