Heads up on the PHP vulnerabilities that leaked yesterday. PHP is shipping emergency patches at 10 AM ET today for two critical flaws (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, rated 9.2, reported as remote code execution). SANS is running a free live briefing at 12 PM ET with Moses Frost and Rich Greene covering what is confirmed, how to find every system running PHP, what to patch first, and what to do if you are on a version that will not get a fix. 🚨#UPDATE: A GoFundMe has been started for the HERO Kaylub Giamanco, the father who stopped the gunman at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.
Giamanco, a local carpenter and dad of two girls who attend the school, was driving home on his lunch break when he heard the shots. He FOLLOWED the shooter into the building and put him down before police arrived. His brother has confirmed the details to NBC News.
The fundraiser, organized by a close friend, is raising money for trauma therapy, lost income, and support for Kaylub, his wife Kelsey, and their two daughters as they process what happened.
This man stepped up when it mattered most. He and his family will need both financial help and emotional support in the days ahead. 🙏

🇺🇸 🚨 STORM CLAIMS APPLIED COMPOSITES — U.S. AEROSPACE/DEFENSE COMPOSITES MAKER LISTED
A ransomware group operating as Storm has listed Applied Composites (appliedcomposites.com), a U.S. manufacturer of advanced composite components for aerospace, defense, and space programs, as an alleged victim on an underground leak site.
Observed claim details:
* Listing observed September 26, 2026 (attack date claimed ~September 24)
* Sector: aerospace / defense / space manufacturing (composites, tooling, assemblies)
* No ransom amount, stolen-data inventory, encryption confirmation, or samples published in available public telemetry
No public confirmation from Applied Composites establishing a successful intrusion, operational disruption, or data theft has been identified.
⚠️ Analyst Note:
Aerospace and defense supply-chain vendors are high-value extortion targets because of customer sensitivity and program timelines. A leak-site listing alone does not prove systems were encrypted, that operations were disrupted, or that any employee/customer/program data was stolen.
Treat victim naming, timing, and any implied impact as an unverified Storm threat-actor claim until the company confirms an incident or independent evidence (samples, regulator notice, or forensic reporting) appears.

I found malware that embedded itself into an audio driver. It silently recorded from the system microphone and uploaded the compressed .wav files every 20 minutes. Using memory forensics and strings, I discovered a hidden process writing to a staged audio cache in %Temp%.

Update #2
Finally got home after way over 50h of flying/travelling 😅
Samsung reached out to me:
- refunded me for my overnight hotel
- booked me a car to get me home this morning
- collected the ring from me, for further investigation
My finger is also doing well, aside from some small marks that I'm sure will heal in a few days.
Some extra things to mention:
- the battery of my ring has been acting very weird for many months (stopped lasting for more than 1-1.5 days and at one point, didn't even power on after being charged for a full day, until I charged it for 2 days)
- when this swelling incident happened, it wasn't even charged
- many other users have been experiencing similar battery life issues - reddit.com/r/samsung/comment…
reddit.com/r/GalaxyRing/comm…
- one user also reported battery swelling, a few months ago

Personally, I think there's something going on with the battery inside many (if not most) Galaxy Rings.
According to these posts on Reddit, Samsung has been offering free replacements but even these ended up having the same issue, later on.
Samsung told me they'll inform me of the investigation findings, so will keep you guys posted! Hopefully they diagnose the issue and permanently replace all the affected units.
Update:
- I was denied boarding due to this (been travelling for ~47h straight so this is really nice 🙃). Need to pay for a hotel for the night now and get back home tomorrow👌
- was sent to the hospital, as an emergency
- ring got removed
You can see the battery all swollen.
Won’t be wearing a smart ring ever again.
