A mentally-ill woman was allowed to stab a Bank of America Executive to death in broad daylight in the middle of Times Square. Big cities like New York are no longer safe for families or businesses. This was avoidable. We used to put the dangerously mentally-ill in asylums. We stopped. Toxic empathy is getting innocent people murdered by lunatics who should have been institutionalized. Over the last 40 years, state psychiatric hospital beds in the U.S. have dropped 76% — from 111,135 in 1986 to 25,845 in 2026. That did not help the sick. It put them on the street and left law-abiding citizens to pay for it. Some with their lives... It's time to put people who are a danger to themselves and others back where they belong. Re-open the asylums.
