Foreign interference: another update in the Register of Interests and @Nigel_Farage STILL hasn't declared WHO paid for his trip to US in July. His last declared earnings from GB News were in June. No declared benefits from his very close associate & lobbyist Gerry Gunster, or from the other event sponsors: 1) Action on World Health: Campaign organisation co-founded by Nigel Farage and David Roach; Gerry Gunster and Andrew Wigmore have been identified in its leadership network. 2) STAK Energy: Alaska-based energy and proposed AI/data-centre infrastructure developer; Sparrow Mahoney identified as founder/CEO; John Boyle linked to company and event programme 3) J. Wallin Opinion Research: US polling and public-opinion consultancy headed by Justin Wallin. 4) EyesOver Technologies: Canadian-origin online intelligence and analytics technology business; US leadership includes Christopher S. Wilson, also billed as an event speaker. 5) Galgorm Collection: Northern Irish luxury hotels and hospitality group, led by Colin Johnston. 6) Hinch Distillery: Northern Irish whiskey producer founded by Terry Cross. 7) Citrin Cooperman: US accounting, tax and advisory firm founded by Niles Citrin and Joel Cooperman. 8) Horizon Motor: US electric commercial-vehicle business; Sean Jones identified as CEO. 9) GB News, represented by Bev Turner. Farage only cares about money - and hiding it.
Remember when Nigel Farage went to Washington for the 4th of July celebrations, as SPEAKER for an event co-organized by lobbyst Gerry Gunster and GB News? There is no income from GB News for the period in Farage's register of interests. Or from Gunster Strategies, who were advertising sponsorships for the event ahead of it. Of course Farage can claim he paid for all flights & accommodation himself, and did get a dime for his participation as speaker. Would anyone believe that, though?

Casual talk of using ‘lethal force' against innocent civilians including women and children is utterly appalling. I'm proud of our tradition providing sanctuary to those who need it and I'm supporting this Labour government to get on with deciding claims and tackling the people smugglers who drive small boat crossings.  Totally unsurprising that Reform UK are already squabbling over Jenrick’s comments - they're unserious and should never be let near public office.

This decision by @andyburnham is a long overdue step in the right direction. The dismal state of Social Care is the worst kept secret of the UK, it’s time for a new system. And one that will stand the test of time without being dismantled or hacked apart by future governments.
Social care is a massive issue in Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh. @andyburnham today is not only setting out how we can build a best in class social care system - he is also trying to do politics differently. I welcome the start of cross-party talks between Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats about how we fix social care. Andy is absolutely right to say that carers should be the “best paid people in society, not the worst.” We must urgently improve the pay, training and working conditions of social care staff. I believe that a National Care Service, fully integrated into the NHS, can be one of the era-defining achievements of this government. bbc.co.uk/news/live/c0rd1rvl…

Yesterday evening, Folkestone & Hythe District Council passed a motion to commit to becoming a ‘District of Sanctuary’. Unfortunately, some have taken to spreading misinformation on this - here are the facts. 🧵1/2

"I live in Dubai". You might want to advise Companies House of that, @IsabelOakeshott. Oh and change your decor for your recent interviews, looks very English for Dubai...
Oh please - to push the all migrants should speak English mantra the Telegraph post this - from a migrant I’m a foreigner in someone else’s country. It’s only polite that I’m learning Arabic telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/09…

Great to join in with Bayle residents marking VE Day together with a fab array of cakes, a visit from the mayor and good chats. So much work goes into organising these events for people to be able to get together - thank you.

I’ve read a lot of Tory-driven propaganda in the last few days about barristers undermining the cab rank rule by working just for individuals and not for the government. I’m afraid this is nonsense! ❌ You breach the cab rank rule if you turn down work you are offered, which you’re available for and able to do. ☑️ You DON’T BREACH the cab rank rule if you’re only ever offered work from one side because that’s the kind of work coming through the door at your chambers. ☑️ You also DON’T BREACH the cab rank rule if you are never offered government work because you aren’t on the approved list of Treasury Counsel, because you’ve never applied to be on it. 🤷‍♂️ So saying a barrister who only represents claimants in immigration cases is “undermining” the cab rank rule is just more legal illiteracy from those attacking lawyers for representing certain kinds of people. This undermines the rule of law and must stop.
