Update on that Catholic cross I found today metal detecting. It says “sterling chapel” on the back of it. It’s from the 1940s to 1960’s and it’s .925 sterling silver.
I must have found 20 of this style cross in my lifetime but this is the 1st one I’ve found that was silver.

On this day:
7 October 2021
Solo 8 month motorcycle trip from Florida.
Kingman Arizona on top of a 300 foot canyon.
The cowboy coffee fueled the days conversations of the Kingman UFO crash.
Did some metal detecting that day.
The truth is stranger than Fiction.
Go touch grass.

THEY’RE LOOTING THE GRAVEYARD NOW ⁉️
Four blokes with metal detectors treated a 15th century churchyard like a car boot sale and started digging among the graves at Thundridge.
This isn’t “hobby detecting.” It’s treating a historic site and other people’s dead as a free for all.
The place has already had enough vandalism, a bit of basic respect for the ground we’re standing on shouldn’t be too much to ask.
Give me strength 😡

Metal detecting is so much fun even if you just find small little items like this. Every beep/tone/dig gets your adrenaline going for what's lurking just under the surface. The best things I've found were an Indian head penny, horseshoes, axe heads, plow heads, buttons, etc....

Out metal detecting today on the property we recently purchased.
So far a small threaded rod, a 7.62 x 39 case, an unfired black powder round, another small fired round, and on old iron square nail.
Nothing exiting but good fun and good exercise for me.

Not a bad day's metal detecting, nice wee gold ring, two silver coins, and the usual bits and pieces.

I don’t. The NFL (except for September in Phoenix) coincides with the start of metal detecting season. I’m out looking for old coins, tokens, and relics.
