Prop Reveals - Day 8
I am proud to say that I am the new owner of the close-up scale Fergus prop!
This is the culmination of my collection and I am insanely grateful to have something like this in my possession.
This is certainly an item that I will treasure for life.
One of the nameplates off the GNER Class 91 βReverend W. Awdryβ is up for auction in October.
This is the first time itβs available for public sale since 2001.
Personally I love the little Thomas crest on it!
I won #76 in the December Propstore auction. It is the same character as the fallen over body I own. It is a slightly different blue and uses the newer body sculpt.
Unfortunately, the eye was damaged during shipping and itβs unclear whether it can be fixed.
Prop reveal!
This is the close up fallen over body of banksman #76, likely made for a cancelled episode of Jack and the Pack.
It was screen used in the Season 8 episode Henry and the Wishing Tree as Henry bashes the coaches, albeit he is wearing a random head. 1/2
The body was sold off in the May Propstore auction last year. After I had purchased it from the set, it arrived to me completely destroyed, all 4 limbs had been broken off.
Thanks to the expert work of @FlyingPringle, the figure was restored to reasonable condition.
The difference between restoring this and something else is that it was made to be in this condition intentionally
His state is part of his history, it was done by the crew. Nobody, not even a crew member could restore him without destroying that history
Itβd be a replica atp
Perspex Thomas lives on the Island of Sodor without 6 small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, or a short stumpy dome. He is now a part of the @ogthomasfan collection. This was a non-permanant polish up while undergoing preservation and more will be revealed in due time
I have entirely no idea where this misconception came from
American locomotives are the same gauge as British ones. 4ft 8.5 inches is standard gauge across the globe.
LOADING GAUGE refers to how tall or wide locomotives and rollingstock can be. US stock has wider clearance.
Back in December the Close-Up scale Fergus buffer beam was auctioned off in a lot and lost foreverβ¦
Except that I won the lot and now it sits proudly on the Close-Up Fergus! Presumably for the first time since Season 7 filming ended in 2002.
Iβm very happy to say that I recently acquired the screen used Gordon laughing face, as seen in seasons 10-12 and The Great Discovery
It was the last face ever worn on screen by the plastic Gordon, and it was also seen on Henry twice in season 12!

Another prop!
Fergusβ Clenched Face - Indicated by the writing on the back of the mask, this Fergus face is from the duplicate face set, while its original was sold with Fergusβ model. Contrary to popular belief, the expression was used on screen, but only for a single shot
