A majority of the 635 children held in Israeli prisons in 2025 were put in solitary confinement, usually for between one and two weeks – some up to eight times.
92 per cent of those children had not been sentenced.
A third had not even been charged with an offence.
The world's highest court says Israel is an apartheid state. Its decades-long occupation is illegal.

It’s crazy how as soon as the Israeli foreign ministry memo went out, all these respectable types who would normally ignore or distance themselves from settler violence found it really important to let us know the photojournalist lady had it coming.

"A team of New York Times journalists arrived on the scene around 9:30 a.m. and witnessed the attack. Armed with slingshots and batons, the settlers launched heavy stones at the Palestinians and set trees ablaze... At least one settler carried a firearm."

The newly launched Gaza Genocide Center has released its first survivor testimony, with English subtitles.
Somaia El-Swerki was 19 when an Israeli airstrike destroyed her family home in Gaza City on December 2, 2023. She survived 21 days trapped beneath the rubble. Her mother died beside her on the seventh day.

One of the most chilling things you’re ever likely to see.
Exterminating entire bloodlines, blasting to rubble every place that ever meant something to the dead, then remaking the landscape so that not a trace of their existence remains.
Not even the Nazis managed this.

The shameful and deliberate attempt at labeling PTI supporters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as militants by Asim Munir’s regime “leans into an old trope” said @AJEnglish in its report on the media blackout and violent crackdown after the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Imran Khan’s PTI in KP.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Pakistan’s Pashtun heartland, and Pashtuns have long been stereotyped as militants. It’s a label the state has used to justify its violent and neglectful approach to the region. With reporters kept out and internet shutdown, the official story is what Pakistanis are hearing, even if they don’t believe it.”

Also a good reminder that the head of Havas’ parent company is standing trial later this year for interfering in West African elections in exchange for favorable port contracts
Havas is really a key player in Israel’s influence operations. Great finding here from @Offinvestigatio and @the7i that between Oct 2023 and December 2025 $242 million passed from Israel through Havas, much of which then gets paid out to contractors in the US

FLASHBACK: Bernie Sanders grills Neera Tanden in her failed 2021 confirmation hearing for OMB
Bernie: Your attacks were not just made against Republicans. There were vicious attacks made against progressives—people who I have worked with.
Can you reflect a little bit about some of your decisions and the personal statements that you have made in recent years?
Neera: I recognize that my language and my expressions on social media caused hurt to people and I feel badly about that... I apologize to people on either the left or right who are hurt by what I've said.

Neera said in an email afterwards that the think tank gained a new board member for hosting Netanyahu, meaning it was about fundraising. Now she’s trying to blame Obama?
She really is the most cynical person.
Mehdi Hasan INTERROGATES Neera Tanden for hosting Benjamin Netanyahu
Mehdi: I know there are CAP staff here in the audience. You know at the time CAP staff complained internally that you did a softball interview.
Neera: I think Benjamin Netanyahu is a horrible person. The reason why we hosted him at CAP is because the Obama administration asked us to. I wish we did not host him—100% (mentions Ben Rhodes).
Mehdi: When did you realize that you shouldn't have hosted him?
Neera: I mean like he's been like basically acting as a kind of war criminal... It was not my idea to host him. The Obama administration basically engineered that. But it was very painful to do
For a long time DC’s Israel defenders would tactically condemn some outbursts of settler violence. But the violence is so obviously pervasive now and so intricately bound up with the entire state of Israel that it’s becoming difficult to separate it. So we’re going to start seeing halting efforts to justify it. (Note this one flopped a bit and he offered a quick clarification in the replies)
One wonders what has to happen for supporters of this evil regime to feel any shame. Family of politicians, mothers, wives, children, non-political bureaucrats…everyone targeted.
Raiding Ikramullah’s official residence is one thing, taking away his 8 yr and 5 yr old children is the worst thing possible. Files and official vehicles were taken away but why his children. This is unprecedented and unacceptable.
Police did great filing a roznamcha, they could have not done anything at all. Those who are doing this are treading a dangerous path.

Extremely sad to see this, Ikramullah Khan is a very competent officer, dedicated - the way his children have been traumatised is unconscionable

Outstanding piece on the Rohingya genocide case (Gambia v. Myanmar).
Four possible outcomes:
1. Genocide
2. Intent to displace, not destroy ('ethnic cleansing')
3. Crimes not connected by an intent to destroy a 'substantial part' of the group
4. Insufficient evidence
