From the NFL: Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has been suspended without pay for one game for an act of unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
During the second quarter, Gardner-Johnson spit at an opponent, violating Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”
Gardner-Johnson’s suspension begins on Monday, October 26. He will be eligible to return to the Bills’ active roster on Monday, November 2, following the team’s November 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Gardner-Johnson may appeal the suspension. Any appeal will be heard and decided upon by either Derrick Brooks, Jordy Nelson, Ron Rivera, or James Thrash, the hearing officers jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player discipline.

This is Austin Riley’s third career go-ahead homer in the 8th inning or later in the postseason
That’s tied for the most in postseason history, with:
Troy Glaus
Bernie Williams
Jose Altuve
Freddie Freeman

Note that even if Reggie Gilliam and Austin Hooper qualify, any 7th round compensatory pick the Bills and Patriots would be eligible for would likely miss the 32 pick limit.

The Bills have released DT Phidarian Mathis, via the NFL transactions wire. But the expectation is that he will be re-signed to the club's practice squad ahead of tomorrow's practice. They have one PS spot available. Mathis returned from a 3-game suspension this week

Trade acquisition Walter Rouse (Aug. 30, from Vikings), who subbed in for Greg Van Roten on Sunday, is also in the mix.

The Patriots placed Greg Van Roten on IR.
They were already without their starting RG Mike Onwenu.
Now they're without their second-string RG.
On to the third-string option now.
