It is heartbreaking to learn Graham Thorpe took his own life following a long battle with depression and anxiety.
Below, we will post a list of free helplines that are there to help when you're feeling down or desperate.
Don't struggle with difficult feelings alone.

This was such an informative evening at @NorthantsCCC . Iโm filled with sadness reading the news about Graham Thorpe this morning. Check in on your friends and reach out for help. Listening and talking are so valuable ๐๐
Such a valuable way to spend an evening. Great discussions about mental health and attitudes in cricket and sport in general. Knowing how to spot the signs, support and understanding. An incredibly brave insight from @AlexWakely1 - thank you ๐Be present and have perspective ๐

Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs.
They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.
Absolutely this! PDA, trauma, mental health; there is a huge list of reasons why childrenโs attendance can be affected. How about doing more to support children, families and schools with better services? This advertising campaign makes my blood boil!
So why are parents so upset and angry about the @educationgovuk attendance campaign? Itโs because it reveals how the DfE thinks about parents of children who are struggling to attend school, and shows how very little they understand of the causes of school attendance difficulties.
The posters all have same format. A child complains about something in the morning - worries, a stomach ache, or a runny nose but โlook at her/him now!โ, with a picture of a happy child in school uniform. The message to parents is clear. The DfE thinks they are โtoo softโ and just need to push a bit past their childrenโs resistance to get into a place where they will be happy - school. Children might complain but itโs not serious. Theyโll โbe fineโ.
This is a message which parents are used to hearing. โTheyโre fine once theyโre hereโ is so common as to be a cliche amongst parents with children who beg them every evening not to send them to school the next day or who protest every morning. Schools donโt see the problems and so they assume that they arenโt happening.
For parents who are struggling every morning to get their children into school - and then dealing with highly distressed children after school - these posters confirm their suspicions that everyone thinks this is their fault. They are just not โgood parentsโ. It confirms that no one believes them when they say that their child is deeply distressed by school and that the problem isnโt home.
These parents already feel blamed, and these posters add more shame. They do nothing to address or even mention the reasons why so many children are struggling to attend. The DfE thinks they know why thereโs a problem - itโs parents who believe their kids and who donโt push them into school hard enough. To the parents who have been asking for support but who are met with long waiting lists and high thresholds for CAMHS, along with fixed penalty fines for poor attendance, this confirms what they already felt.
Thereโs no help coming. Itโs just โtry harderโ.
We never had portraits of the Queen, so why this? The 8 million ยฃ spent on this could have built 2/3 SEND provision schools, which are so desperately needed. Itโs unfathomable just how out of touch the government is ๐ข
Schools, nurseries, colleges and other education settings in England have until 2 February 2024 to apply for a free portrait of King Charles III ๐

Absolutely this ๐When youโre having to teach children about misogyny at primary level, you know there is something rotten about those in government & the public eye. Women can ref matches, win awards, go for a night out without having to risk their reputation and safety.
