WATCH: Britain’s ITN has released ~4 hours of previously sealed 1989 Tiananmen footage — filmed by the team that smuggled the tapes out of China. The material, archived for ~35 years, includes a 2-hour crackdown compilation and 90 minutes of secretly filmed raw rushes from the days after, showing military trucks on Beijing streets, crowds, and the aftermath.

Interesting
Zhang sold a $4 million house. The buyer's street matched the rental car paperwork from her Seattle surveillance trip. A former 34-year CIA and DIA officer dug through the federal complaint against Wanying Zhang and found what investigators didn't spell out. Zhang and her companion both work in real estate and construction in Los Angeles. One property sale traces to a Chinese-named investment firm with eight businesses registered at a single address. His read on the tradecraft: Beijing had her handlers brief her inside China specifically, not in the U.S., to keep handlers out of reach of American surveillance. Real estate wasn't incidental to this operation. It was the cover. China doesn't need career spies when a realtor's day job already explains every trip, every property, every wire transfer. thebureau.news/p/taiwan-pres…

#ScienceSaturday What if #cancer starts weakening T cells before they even reach the tumor? A new study published in @Nature suggests that an important part of cancer’s immune suppression may happen outside the #tumor itself, in nearby lymph nodes where cancer-fighting T cells are activated and prepared to respond. 🔬 Researchers studied tumor-draining #lymph nodes from patients with melanoma and identified a population of immune cells, mainly macrophages, producing high levels of an enzyme called PLA2G2D. These cells were found close to activated CD8+ T cells and were associated with poorer outcomes. In laboratory and mouse studies, PLA2G2D acted like an immune brake, limiting the early expansion of tumor-specific T cells. When researchers blocked it, more cancer-fighting T cells expanded in the lymph nodes, entered the bloodstream and ultimately reached the tumor. Even more interesting, blocking PLA2G2D alongside PD-1 checkpoint inhibition produced additive or synergistic antitumor effects in preclinical models, suggesting the two pathways may suppress #Tcells in different ways. 💡 Why does this matter? We often focus on overcoming immune suppression inside the tumor. This study suggests there may also be important immune “checkpoints” in the lymph nodes where antitumor responses begin. There is still more work to do before this approach can be tested as a treatment in patients, but understanding these early barriers could reveal new ways to help more tumor-specific T cells make it into the fight. @AvanKrimpen_ @R_Stadhouders @bart_lambrecht @ErasmusMC @tmu2010 @UTokyo_News_en @NatureComms @NatureMedicine Read the study: nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

President Trump calls Jensen mid-interview at the All-In Summit to say AI taking over the world is a hoax Jensen: "Mr. President? I've got to tell you something. If it wasn't because of you calling, I would... I'm on stage with the besties." Trump: "You see, the great thing about life is that Jensen can develop the most complex computer chip in the world that nobody can copy for 10 years, but he can't figure out how to put me on speaker." "So, the AI, it's almost a conspiracy, and the happiest group is China, they're very happy." "I'm telling you, it's all a hoax. The data centers are great and they make people wealthy and they make states wealthy and it's the oil of the next 20, 25 years. It's bigger than the Internet." "The robots are not going to be taking over the world and that's not going to happen. The AI will not be taking over the rest of the world. The whole thing is a hoax." "Now, with that, we have to be a little bit careful, but that doesn't mean we're going to stop an industry. So I'm with you all the way."

BREAKING NEWS: a new drug reverses (not slows, reverses) biological age in humans by 3-4 years. Not mice, not monkeys. Humans. Did I mention it was created with AI? The medical acceleration is real.
This is a major milestone in the age of AI and toward our ultimate goal of completely reversing aging! @InSilicoMeds developed the first AI drug, Rentosertib, now in a Phase 3 clinical trial, and it just showed something remarkable: a reversal of biological age in people! Six different aging clocks, developed by six independent groups, all showed reversal after just 12 weeks of treatment, with participants measuring 3–4 years younger biologically! Congratulations to my friend Alex and the entire @InSilicoMeds team on this landmark achievement!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim is based on a reanalysis of Phase 2a trial data from 42 IPF patients; six proteomic clocks predicted reduced biological age vs placebo, but the paper states effects may be disease-specific and calls for testing in healthy volunteers. nature.com/articles/s4158… nytimes.com/2026/09/07/sci…
