Now the board has gone further, voting to inscribe new text beneath the main signage reading "Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump" — a move the New York Times calls "an aggressive test" of the judge's order, with the board directing officials to act by "all legal means." Acosta wasn't having it. "The fact that the Kennedy Center board would actually vote to inscribe his name on the building beneath the main signage is absolute crazy town nuttery!" he said. "Something needs to be done." He didn't stop there. "If they start chiseling Donald Trump's name into the side of that building—or doing something to change the signage of that building in violation of a judge's order—somebody needs to go to jail! And we know it's not going to be Donald Trump, because Donald Trump will do everything possible to not go to jail. But somebody on that Kennedy Center board, the construction crews who are out there—they should know that you are not to take a chisel to the Kennedy Center and put that crazy lunatic's name on the side of that building!" Acosta drove home why this matters beyond the legal technicalities: "It is not his building! The building was not named in his honor." He called the Kennedy Center "one of our cultural icons," warning that Trump defacing "a living memorial to John F. Kennedy, who was a real president of the United States" with his own name would be a genuine act of desecration — carried out, in Acosta's words, by "this reality TV game show, dime-store Richard Nixon who wants to act like a crook and thinks he can get away with it all the time." Acosta's message was blunt: the board members and construction crews defying a federal judge's order aren't just embarrassing themselves. They're exposing themselves to real legal jeopardy to satisfy one man's ego. While we hope that they do pay the consequences, we know that they’re all just a Trump pardon away from going scot-free. BREAKING: AT LAST! A federal judge just ordered Trump to finally pay E. Jean Carroll her $5 million — after years of him stalling justice. After years of legal maneuvering, delay tactics, and desperate last-ditch appeals, Donald Trump has finally run out of road. Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered Wednesday that writer E. Jean Carroll must PROMPTLY receive the $5 million a Manhattan jury awarded her back in May 2023 — after that jury found Trump liable for sexually assaulting her in a department store in the 1990s AND for defaming her by calling her allegations "a Hoax and a lie." It’s a scenario that would be unthinkable for anyone other than Doanld Trump. A jury of Americans found the President of the United States committed sexual assault. And he has spent years fighting, delaying, and obstructing simply paying the woman he assaulted and then publicly smeared. The Supreme Court finally slammed the door on his appeal on June 29th. Did that stop him? Of course not. Just hours before Judge Kaplan's order, Trump's lawyers filed yet ANOTHER request asking the justices to reconsider — and to bundle this case with a separate one where a jury ordered him to pay Carroll an additional $83.3 million for defaming her in 2019. Georgetown Law professor Stephen Vladeck called it exactly what it is: "a transparent play for time." This is who Donald Trump is. Found liable by a jury of his peers. Ordered by a court to pay. And his response, every single time, is to burn through every possible delay tactic rather than face consequences like anyone else would have to. Carroll's own filing put it plainly: Trump has "consistently sought to obstruct and delay payment" of a jury's verdict. The Supreme Court is now in summer recess and won't reconvene until September, meaning Trump's latest delay tactic could buy him months. Meanwhile, his lawyers have already filed notice that they plan to appeal even THIS order. A jury said he did it. Multiple juries, actually. Nearly $90 million in total judgments against him for assaulting and defaming one woman. And still, he fights. Still, he delays. Still, he denies. E. Jean Carroll deserves her money. "Let's be better, America.” The "vile and racist comment" in question came from fighter Josh Hokit who yelled out "Michelle Obama is a man!" It was a racist trope, with a long history in America, which asserts that Black women are inherently less feminine than white women. It's designed to dehumanize and humiliate people of color. Hokit has a history of bigotry. At a previous UFC event, he called WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner, a Black woman, a "man." Clearly, this man feels at home in the MAGA movement because he's surrounded by other white racists. Trump, predictably, didn't condemn Hokit's remarks. In fact, CNN reported that the President was seen showing a "half-smile” in response to the insult. The American presidency has hit rock bottom.
