iPhone Duo is coming and your agents won't have a clue how to build for it
So I turned all the new documentation, APIs and developer sessions into an agent skill
Grab it here: github.com/FloWritesCode/fwc…
The skill will get updated as new APIs / Xcode 27.1 gets introduced
🤖 Made with AI
There's no HomeViewKit SDK bringing your apps on the new HomeView
But there are two existing APIs instead. And they don't need Xcode 27.2 or above. You can get started building for this new device today.

🚨 Going out of business sale 🚨
iOS dev course sales plummeted due to AI. It costs a lot of money to host my courses online and with sales at basically $0, I've cancelled that hosting.
This closes down the site which unfortunately removes access to the courses.
I want you to have the courses you purchased forever, so I've added the ability to download my course videos so they are yours.
I've put my recent course on sale at a large discount so you can get it before it's gone and I've made old courses available for free if you want to grab those too.
The school will be online until November 24th so you have a few weeks to download these videos at seanallen.teachable.com
Thanks for learning with me and supporting my work over the years. I appreciate it.
Got a first banner ready for @LaunchBuddy_App
I will work on an animated one soon, just wanted to get a first version out
iOS 27 introduces so many funnel-related changes, it’s quite exciting!
LaunchBuddy currently has three submission waiting for review:
- macOS version 7.2.0
- app preview video for iOS
- new IAPs
I never had three submissions in app review for a single app 😂
During Shipaton, I saw dozens of developers get their apps rejected.
It happens all the time! But did you know that there are a few tricks to avoid rejections?
They're pretty simple too: youtu.be/6G0z4MAEl1o
When I created Blacksmith (the UI-test-based screenshot automation tool at github.com/FloWritesCode/Bla…), I created a Github organization for it.
I thought that I would be building many more developer tools, so it made sense to me.
The only other dev tool in that organization was @LaunchBuddy_App.
So after all these years, I finally transferred it into my personal Github account + renamed the repository from AppManager to LaunchBuddy.
Feels good to clean up stuff like this!
LaunchBuddy's next update (7.2.0) is PACKED with new features and improvements.
This could have easily been 2 or 3 updates, but I wanted to get out a banger!
Will be available soon for both iOS & macOS.
Even after removing all IAPs from sale, ASC says that my app can't be removed from sale right now.
Does anyone know what's going on?
While I was in Leeds, I spent the little free time that I had to rebuild the task board of LaunchBuddy
It looks better, but most importantly it's MUCH smoother than before. You can also reorder tasks in each column by just dragging between two other tasks.
Just a few more days until the first people get their iPhone Duo
So you still have a chance of getting your app ready on day one
And just a few days later, @KotlinLeeds is coming to an end as well.
I genuinely enjoyed chatting with people and hanging out with the community. Thank you @Adam9Rush & team for making it happen!
Thanks as well for inviting me to give the closing keynote. It was tons of fun!
So I didn't pre-order an iPhone Duo (too expensive), but I refreshed the page and tried just for the fun of it and the delivery date was December 2nd already.
The page only became available 12 minutes past the official date. I'd be annoyed if I actually wanted to buy one today.
Take a look at Apple's apps on iPhone Duo
Your apps should probably behave similarly!
The simulator runtime for iOS 27.2 supports iPhone Duo now, but it still comes with almost none of the built-in apps. That doesn’t mean you can’t just install them from the non-Duo iOS 27.2 runtime via “xcrun simctl install” though 😏

nerdsniped, here is how ChaGPT app does it github.com/zats/chatgpt-keyb… they are not shying away from private APIs, TLDR:
- UIKeyboard.activeKeyboard provides the live keyboard view
- walk through superviews to find the rendered keyboard host, capture it as a snapshot
- UIKeyboard.setKeyboardAlpha:0 keeps keyboard active but makes it transparent
- transparent non-key window presents the snapshot above the app
- UIBlurEffect.effectWithVariableBlurRadius:imageMask: applies a progressive blur across the live app content and keyboard snapshot.
180K people saw this joke, so here's the serious part for iOS devs:
HomeView is essentially your app's widgets + your CarPlay app. If you already ship widgets, you get it for free.
Still a weird API decision. Are you building for it?
It's always great to hang out with the community.
@swift_leeds delivered once again (as always)
Thanks for all the great conversations and the motivation to keep building apps & making content!
In a world full of change, I know humans will always prevail. Our message for you in this ever changing world.. try to embrace the change, find new ways to challenge yourself and support each other.
I know, we will land somewhere where it all makes more sense. Thank you, for being apart of our journey.
SwiftLeeds will always be here! We can’t wait for 2027 already 🎣
We love you ❤️
