A lesson from Turkey on how any

country should respond to Russian invaders in its airspace.
Result: Russia did NOTHING and ceased its provocations against Turkey.
This is fucking insane: today, a Russian military Mi-8 helicopter violated Polish airspace, penetrating roughly 300 meters into it and remaining there for 42 seconds.
The Poles scrambled fighter jets and put ground forces and air-defense assets on alert, but, of course, nobody shot the helicopter down.
Just a reminder: in 2015, when Turkey shot down a Russian Su-24, the aircraft had been inside Turkish airspace for “just” 17 seconds.
The aircraft was hit after it had already returned to Syrian airspace, and it also crashed on Syrian territory.
Russia swallowed it, imposed “sanctions” on Turkey — including a ban on Turkish tomatoes, restrictions on tourism, and a number of other measures — but of course never dared to “go to war” with Turkey.
Forty-two seconds in war is already a hell of a long time, but in aviation it is fucking enormous: in those “seconds,” an aircraft can cover kilometers of distance.
So the Poles are basically telling the Russians: sure, fly in, land troops here — we don’t mind.
This is not just fucked up. This is spectacularly fucked up.
Last year I already used the example of Switzerland, so I’ll bring it up again:
During World War II, tiny Switzerland uncompromisingly shot down German aircraft that “accidentally” entered its airspace.
And sometimes they really did enter by accident — for example, while returning from France.
Swiss pilots fought the Germans in the air and shot them down, scoring victories in aerial combat.
This particularly infuriated Hitler because the Swiss were shooting down German aircraft while flying Bf 109 Messerschmitts themselves — aircraft Switzerland had purchased back in the 1930s.
Yes, the Reich did not have nuclear weapons, but Berlin already had operational plans for a military campaign against Switzerland and its occupation.
And with almost all of Europe already under German control, Switzerland had every reason to understand that those plans were not necessarily a bluff.
But the Swiss did not sit around wringing their hands or engaging in verbal gymnastics — they simply shot down anything that violated their airspace.
Anything that crosses into your airspace should be shot down immediately. Let Moscow explain afterward who got lost, who made a mistake, and what exactly happened.
Anything else sends Moscow one very clear signal: You can.

“We invited President Putin. We believe this is a good opportunity for him to meet not only with President Donald Trump, but also with other world leaders. We hope he accepts the invitation,” Rubio said.
The secretary of state also said Russia and Ukraine had shown interest in a limited ceasefire covering energy and grain-related infrastructure and supplies. He said such a move would not end the war, but could potentially ease some of the global pressure caused by the conflict.

This was already the fifth largely pointless face-to-face meeting between Lavrov and Rubio since 2025. They last held detailed talks on July 23 in Manila on the sidelines of ASEAN events — that meeting lasted around 30–35 minutes and also focused on Ukraine.

Zelenskyy just framed the entire negotiation in one brutal line.
Putin demands Ukraine leave its own land. The same demand he made on day one.
After everything. The strikes.
The occupation. The bodies.
Kyiv is supposed to hand over independence like a bargaining chip.

Rubio is suddenly worried about American-linked ships and oil supplies being hit by Ukraine, “probably not deliberately,” but something that “needs to be addressed. ” He can find concern for that.
He cannot find a single sentence for what Russia has been doing to American companies inside Ukraine for three years.
The asymmetry is obvious. the entire policy.
Russia has run a deliberate, large-scale campaign against American corporate assets in Ukraine. More than 50% of American companies operating there have taken damage from Russian missiles and drones.
Moscow is deliberately carrying out these strikes. It is targeting them.
The record is clear.
• Boeing: Russian missile hit the Kyiv office of the American aerospace giant in June 2025.
• Flex Ltd. : In August 2025, Russian cruise missiles struck the American electronics plant in Mukachevo, far behind the front lines.
Fifteen people wounded. The facility assembles household appliances, including Nespresso coffee machines.
• Mondelez International: facilities repeatedly hit in combined missile and drone attacks in 2026.
• Cargill: Russian drones attacked a major grain terminal in southern Ukraine in mid-April 2026. Vessels and port infrastructure tied to the company’s exports remain under constant Russian attack.
• Philip Morris: a Russian missile destroyed part of the tobacco factory in Kharkiv region at the end of January. In July 2026, Russia destroyed a Philip Morris warehouse in Kyiv.
• PepsiCo: a plant in Mykolaiv region damaged in a Russian attack at the end of August 2026.
• Coca-Cola: the production complex near Kyiv targeted again in early September 2026, with drones damaging the plant.
• Bunge: a targeted Russian strike on a civilian sunflower oil facility in Dnipro in September 2026. Repeated strikes spilled more than 300 tons of oil onto the road.
Rubio has no words for any of that. Russian strikes on American assets are background noise.
Ukrainian strikes on the refineries funding Russia’s war are a problem to solve.
That is something else. That is laundering Moscow’s priorities through the State Department.

130 years ago, Ukrainian-speaking area was not limited by Ukraine, but also some parts of russia and Belarus spoke it (see the red area, that's the result of russian Empire census in 1897, when people identified themselves by the language). So, when someone says that some region of Ukraine is “russian speaking”, read the above list again. It’s a miracle that Ukrainian language even survived, and many people sacrificed their lives for it.

After that, they together celebrated the "victory" and Russians became the biggest friends of German Nazi, supplying oil, lumber, construction materials, grain, food, other resources and military equipment to Germans up until June 22, 1941.

On 17 September 1939, the Red Army invaded Poland without declaring war, breaching the Soviet–Polish Non-Aggression Pact, set to last until 1945.
Poland’s international protests were largely ignored, initiating its fourth partition.
