New: Records show Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken nearly 1,000 trips during his tenure, costing $3.3 million in security. We could only connect 138 of those trips and $553,000 in security costs to state business. propub.li/4AVW3SL

Tower Hamlets Council refused the Brick Lane data centre unanimously. Nine resident groups opposed it. The council and the mayor asked for housing instead. The government approved it anyway, through ministerial recovery, with the letter signed on behalf of Angela Rayner. The scheme offers 44 homes, six of them for social rent, and a data centre built around high-frequency trading. Rayner's partner, Sam Tarry, has been senior adviser since May at NorthPoint Strategy, a lobby firm whose sectors include AI, crypto and energy. Its chair is Tory peer Lord Wharton. Its crypto council lists Andreessen Horowitz among its clients. NorthPoint says Tarry helps clients "shape policy agendas". The minister who decides where data centres go shares a household with the adviser to the industry that needs them. 🧵 europeanpowell.substack.com/…

Countries with a history of public executions or state-media coverage: Iran, China, North Korea, and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Know who doesn’t televise executions? Western democracies. But apparently, under Trump and Hegseth, America will. politi.co/4ATvxcA

And here's another concern: Want to check whether your child has an account? The identity verification process requires you to upload your driver's license, provide additional personal information, and complete facial biometric verification. So parents are being asked to hand over more personal data just to access a system they never consented to in the first place. And after all that? YOU STILL CAN'T OPT OUT OF ACCOUNT CREATION. How is that acceptable?

🚨 DEAR PARENTS, WERE YOU AWARE OF THIS? I just discovered something today that genuinely concerns me. The U.S. Treasury has automatically opened "Trump Accounts" for eligible American children under 18. NO PARENTAL SIGNATURE. NO CONSENT. NO OPT-OUT. And before anyone tells me I'm mistaken, I went directly to the official website. It explicitly states that automatic account creation cannot be opted out of. Even if you never claim the account, it remains open and converts into a traditional IRA when your child turns 18. And there's more. Michael and Susan Dell have committed billions to automatically deposit $250 into the accounts of 25 MILLION eligible children born between 2016 and 2024, based on where they live. Parents don't have to apply for the money. Now we're connecting our children's financial identities to a system involving the U.S. Treasury, BNY Mellon, and Robinhood. And apparently, parents are supposed to accept this because someone attached a dollar amount to it? I DO NOT CONSENT. I don't care if it's $250, $1,000, or $10,000. My concern is the principle. Since when did parental consent become optional when establishing financial accounts in our children's names? And why isn't there a way for parents to refuse? My child is not a government asset, and I don't believe anyone should be establishing financial accounts in her name without my permission. The fact that the official website openly admits there is NO OPT-OUT should concern parents regardless of their politics.

The United States military, probably the strongest military in human history, will roll a guy in a wheelchair out, put a bag over his head, and shoot him dead for the world to see. This is what dictators do, not democracies.
Hegseth on Nidal Hasan: "He's gonna get a firing squad of soldiers. As it should be. We'll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it's public. Because people need to understand that there's serious consequences for these types of things."

ICE cannot be reformed, because their actions aren't due to a lack of training or oversight. ICE is operating exactly as intended, as Trump's private white supremacist militia, well-funded and protected from accountability. Abolish ICE.

Ossoff: Each time Mike has called himself a trucker tonight, you'd think he's cruising down 85 behind the wheel. This is a congressman's son who inherited a seat in Congress, who now runs his daddy's trucking company, who voted seven times for the war in Iran, who voted for the tariffs, who voted to cut your health care — all so he could give a tax break to data center developers and some of the wealthiest people in the country. His office has been in cahoots with some of the most notorious white supremacists in America. He's already brought disgrace to our state. But I am so grateful to Georgians for investing the trust in me to represent Georgia in the Senate. I've stood up to the drug companies, to the big tech companies, and to the insurance companies who are denying us the care that we need when we need it. And I humbly ask for your continued support in this election.

Who wouldn't try to run from a man dressed as a construction worker threatening you with a gun? Abolish and prosecute ICE.
Photos from the aftermath of the New York City ICE shooting that were obtained by The Intercept show a federal agent in a high-viz vest weilding an assault rifle. An eyewitness told @NoahHurowitz that an agent at the scene appeared to be posing at a construction worker, until they stashed their high-viz vest. theintercept.com/2026/10/08/…

So the pentagon is gonna live stream a public execution dec 3. I would imagine this excites the pro life crowd quite a bit. Remember when they said we have to get rid of rainbow flags because its damaging to kids? Apparently live streaming public executions is cool tho. Our country is falling back into barbarism.

El-Sayed is not done landing hits on Mike Rogers El-Sayed: He really is riding shotgun on his own campaign because at the end of the day, it's Donald Trump and JD Vance who get to dictate what happens here. He's talking about these things in third person, as if a war is just a thing that gets started or a thing that ends. He's talking about tariffs as if they're just something that happened. Like they fell from the sky. No, your guy did that. Your boss, Donald Trump, who called you up and told you to run. He's the one who is he's waged this war. If you had a backbone in your back, you might actually be willing to stand up for michiganders, but you don't. And that's the thing about all of these candidates right now, Mike Rogers is just the biggest sock puppet of them all. They don't actually have anything to say.
