FixIt will be offline for a half hour tonight (5/7) at 8pm. Call the Facilities Central line as usual for emergencies, but please hold your routine requests during the outage.
Operations will be working to clean up abandoned bikes at the end of the semester. That means your bike needs to be removed from res hall bike racks by May 26. Check out the email all residents received for details or contact us if you have questions.
Spring Break is not all that far away! Start thinking about what you'd like to take home with you now so you don't have to tie the over-stuffed car trunk down when you leave this summer. (We're thinking about things like your bike. Hopefully you don't have a litter of puppies)
Having trouble finding the right FixIt category for your problem? Let us know! We'll either help you find it or use it as an opportunity to reorganize the site. Much like the US Constitution, FixIt is a living document George Washington depends on (but much easier to change).
One of the cool things about GW is that our buildings aren't uniform or cookie cutter. Unfortunately, that can make things a little confusing too. Our heating systems are wide and varied. Questions about how yours works? Ask us!
GW classes, activities, and events after 2pm are canceled due to weather concerns. But we're not abandoning you! As always, if you have a facilities emergency, call 202-994-6706 option 2. Like Austin Powers in a tight hallway, we aren't going anywhere. campusadvisories.gwu.edu/

Does @FixItComeFixIt ever stop? Not when the snowing is falling and campus need them. THANK YOU @GWmvc @GWtweets
Happy New Year, GW family and @GWToday! We've got resolutions from the Division of Operations and @GW_CSE!
Remember, residence halls close December 21 at 12pm. At that point, you won't have access to your room until the end of winter break, so take a moment to make a plan. Unplug electronics, close windows, and take out your trash. You'll be much happier when you return!
Almost 5000 tickets completed in November... and this is the slowest month we've had so far this school year 😅
It's getting colder out, but bathrooms can still provide a cozy home for mold unless you take precautions.
If you're having trouble with the heat in your room, submit a FixIt! Please DON'T use portable heaters. Portable heaters can cause fires. If found during @GW_Safety room inspections, they will be removed. For the full list of prohibited items, check here: safety.gwu.edu/residence-hal…
Last week facilities staff from Foggy Bottom took a fieldtrip to check in on their colleagues at Mount Vernon. Stronger relationships built from connecting our team members keeps us all on the same page and united in our goal to provide excellent customer service. #RaiseHigh
Heading home for Thanksgiving? Remember to close your windows and lock your doors! It looks like it may rain this weekend. When you return to GW full of turkey and/or tofurky, we bet you'd rather take a nap than call us to clean up your carpet (though we love hearing from you).
Free movie tickets! Follow us, then tweet us someone you'd like to thank from the FixIt team and what they did to deserve your praise. Our favorite four submissions will earn 2 tickets each (and our facilities teammates will get a shoutout in our newsletter).
This is just your reminder that FixIt is here to help however we can! And we say "we" instead of "it" very deliberately. FixIt is a big team of facilities professionals, from customer service reps to technicians to property managers. Submit a FixIt: fixit.assetworks.io/
