This is what AMERICA FIRST delivering for farmers looks like. 💪🇺🇸 Under @POTUS's strong leadership, we've secured a strengthened 1944 Water Treaty! Guaranteeing South Texas producers the annual deliveries they deserve, full repayment of water debt, and real accountability moving forward. Huge thanks to my partners @SecRubio, @SenTedCruz, and @RepMonicaDLC for stepping up and fighting hard to help get this done for Texas agriculture. Water means livelihoods for our farmers and ranchers. We're protecting them and putting America First! Another big WIN for rural America! 🔥💧 #FarmersFirst #AmericaWins
🤝 The U.S. and Mexico have reached a new commitment to strengthen the 1944 Water Treaty that will provide greater certainty for farmers, ranchers, and producers in South Texas who rely on consistent water deliveries from the Rio Grande. Under the negotiated outcome, Mexico committed to: 💧 Deliver a minimum of 350,000 acre‑feet of water per year to the U.S. during the current 5‑year cycle 🗒️ Detailed plan to fully repay all outstanding water debt accrued during the previous cycle Both parties will hold monthly meetings to ensure timely, consistent deliveries and prevent future deficits. USDA, @StateDept, and other federal partners will continue to work closely as implementation moves forward. 🔗 usda.gov/about-usda/news/pre…

Wonderful uses less than 1% of the state’s water as part of a community of farmers and ranchers who produce a quarter of our nation’s food – in our case, only healthy food.

$250M in federal funding for CNRA to implement dust control and habitat projects at the Salton Sea in order to facilitate @IIDatWork conservation to address the Colorado River drought. Thanks Reclamation for stepping up and becoming a partner to help our community.
Today I joined leaders from the California Natural Resources Agency, Imperial Irrigation District and Coachella Valley Water District to sign a historic agreement funded by the Inflation Reduction Act that will mitigate the impacts from the drought crisis facing the Salton Sea.

More accurate to say 50% free flow to sea environmental flow, 40% ag, 10% municipal industrial. Of the half used by people, that equates to 80% ag, 20% M&I.

DWR is continuing to work on the environmental planning & permitting to modernize SWP infrastructure in the Delta. This effort is consistent with @CAgovernor's direction & support for a single-tunnel project to ensure a climate resilient water system: bit.ly/30MAW3W

Today in 2009, we completed construction on the Thomas E. Levy Groundwater Replenishment Facility in La Quinta. Since then, 322,700 acre-feet of Colorado River water has been recharged into the local aquifer while increasing groundwater elevations near the facility by 97 feet.
