I’m a “crappy” fisherman

I work to buy fishing gear… I buy fishing gear to chase bass… I chase bass to forget work… the loop continues.

I asked my son if he wanted to go fishing or play video games. He said “both.” So I guess I need to buy livescope now.

I don’t need therapy. I need a sunrise, black coffee, and that one spot nobody else knows about.

My favorite thing about fishing is catching them. My least favorite thing about fishing is not catching them.

If fish knew how much money I’ve spent trying to catch them, you’d think they’d be polite enough to bite.

Mornings without fishing are just… mornings. 😩

A sick day isn’t lying if the cure is sunshine and bass thumb.

Not sure what’s worse, when your team gets its butt kicked or when you lose a biggun at the boat?

Are you ready for some football? Or fish the size of footballs? 🏈 🎣

Fishing gives me a chance to be the dad who listens, not lectures. That’s the example I want them to copy.

A Bass Pro catalog in the 90’s was better than the internet.

I remember when we thought $25 rod and reel combos from Kmart were top shelf. 🎣

Fishing with kids teaches patience…especially when they cast straight into a tree for the third time.

Grandpa’s version of “forward facing sonar” was pointing and saying, “They’re right over there.”

My son prays for big fish. I pray for patience. Both needed tomorrow.

Fishing doesn’t solve every prayer. It gives me the space to say them.

My kids don’t care how big the fish were. They care that we spent the morning fishing together.

Fishing with kids is peaceful…if peace includes “Dad, I need to pee” the second you get to your fishing spot.
