ALT The exterior of the book. The stiff upper board is bound in a warm brown leather, and affixed to the spine with pale cream-hued cords attached to the board via channels embedded in the board itself. Atop the brown leather sits a label: a white paper rectangle upon which is drawn, all in brown ink, a rectangular frame surrounding a Spanish title which translates to “Baptisms of Indians, from January of 1768 to August 1775”. The book’s shelfmark is University of Toronto, Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, manuscript 5100.
