Wanna give this fanbase, and those that cover ND a ton of credit- I feel as though almost all of us feel uniform in rejecting the officiating narrative. The outcome of Saturday was all on Notre Dame. Ownership begets progress.
Leave More Doubt? A look into what just happened, and what needs to change:

I had respect for BYU coming into this, but I also had way too much respect for this Notre Dame team.
An expectation altering performance by the Irish. Everything is still in front of them, but this made you question if they have the magic this year.
Given the opportunity, ND’s offensive line has leaned on BYU. They need more of those opportunities. They’re fun to watch when they’re relied upon tonight.
Notre dame not fooled by the fake punt. The 2nd gift from the football god’s comes from special teams, again.
Last time I saw that was Golson vs Syracuse. This time, it’s so much more costly. Unbelievable series of follies by Notre Dame in the first half. I thought it was going to be a grind. This has been a disaster.
There’s nothing about this defense that is encouraging. No spark. No pressure. And a really poor game plan.
Big Denbrock defender but when you run the ball down hill all last drive and decide to split Walton out at WR, im not so sure if that’s the right move.
BYU threw the kitchen sink at Notre Dame that entire drive. They take the lead. But that is also Noted.
Now THAT is what a Notre Dame Offensive Line looks like.
Nolan James also playing his tail off. CJ Carr looks so comfortable. Notre Dame takes the lead and that offensive line is giving me every reason to think it can start to roll. Defense up next.
I liked what I saw from the o-line on that drive. ND knocks it in for 3. But it felt like a missed opportunity with Faison and Carr on 3rd down. Still, the offense looked comfortable.
It’s one of those weekends where you’re watching all these top 10 teams and none of them look head and shoulders above the rest.
No one is in the driver’s seat. Does that change tonight?
