Nearly a year in, universal child care is changing what's possible for New Mexico parents. New research shows that since we made child care free and universal for every New Mexican, low-income mothers have seen: -18% increase in employment -23% increase in full-time work -15% more hours worked each week For other families, it's opened different doors, like going back to school or spending more time at home. We're proud that parents now have the freedom to chase new opportunities, knowing their kids are safe, learning, and well cared for.
