The Catholic Church openly endorsed Mussolini, Salazar and Franco. They helped the Nazis pass the Enabling Act in 1933, stayed silent during the Holocaust and then helped up to 10,000 Nazis escape, mostly to S. America, through the ratline after the war. The tradition continues.
