The people of Somaliland are friendly, loyal, and reliable partners who value shared democratic principles, and their appreciation of President Trump’s remarks recognising Somaliland’s distinct democratic identity reflects their commitment to building strong partnerships with like-minded nations.
Such sectarian gatherings are not only a challenge to Somaliland’s interests; they risk becoming a threat to the stability and strategic interests of other important countries in the region. No gathering, using the failed Mogadishu administration as a proxy arrangement, or political manoeuvre can erase Somaliland’s history, sovereignty, or the legitimate aspirations of its people.
The Republic of Somaliland stands firm in defending its sovereignty, its democratic achievements, and its right to determine its own future.
Somaliland–Israel relations are rooted in shared democratic values, mutual respect, and common national interests.

During my visit to Washington, D.C., I had a productive and important meeting with U.S. @SenTedCruz, a steadfast advocate for Somaliland.
We discussed strengthening the Somaliland–U.S. strategic partnership, advancing the recognition of Somaliland’s sovereignty, and establishing a Somaliland-specific U.S. Travel Advisory that accurately reflects the security realities on the ground.
Somaliland remains a reliable partner of the United States in counterterrorism, maritime security, and advancing peace and stability across the Horn of Africa.
Somaliland and Israel are increasingly well connected around the world, with Ambassador @yechielleiter and Ambassador @AmbMohamedHagi playing an important role in strengthening this growing rock-solid relationship and mutual understanding.
