🚨 BLACK DAY FOR DEMOCRACY IN PAKISTAN!
AN ELECTED GOVERNMENT SUSPENDED. ELECTED LEADERS ILLEGALLY ABDUCTED.
DEMOCRACY UNDER SIEGE!
The reported suspension of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s democratically elected PTI government and provincial assembly marks a grave assault on Pakistan’s constitutional order.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other elected PTI leaders have reportedly been ILLEGALLY ABDUCTED BY FASCIST FORCES, amid allegations of military-backed repression under Field Marshall Asim Munir.
250 MILLION PAKISTANIS DESERVE DEMOCRACY, NOT UNDECLARED MARTIAL LAW!
🌍 THE WORLD MUST NOT REMAIN SILENT! And stop Pakistan from going in to a civil war like situation due to military occupation.
The United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and all democratic nations must condemn this fascist action and demand:
• Immediate restoration of democracy, elected provincial government and constitutional rule.
• Immediate release of all unlawfully abducted political leaders and protesters.
• An end to military interference, political persecution, and suppression of peaceful dissent.
• Suspension of security cooperation enabling repression until constitutional democracy is restored.
🇺🇸 U.S. CONGRESS MUST STAND FOR DEMOCRACY AND CONSTITUTIONAL RULE IN PAKISTAN!
No general is above Pakistan’s Constitution. Pakistan belongs to its people, not its military.
Congress must condemn repression, demand constitutional rule, and review U.S. assistance enabling abuses.
SILENCE ENABLES TYRANNY!

🚨🇵🇰 Imran Khan’s sister, Aleem-a-Khan, got her 30-DAY PUBLIC ORDER DETENTION OVER, and the Pakistani government is not letting ANYONE see her
She was held under a colonial-era law for nothing more than speaking out.
Her family was locked out, with lawyers as well, and with no order and no explanation.
Immediate release is the only lawful step left!

If we count the cases that attempted to leave the country but failed, the number would be astonishingly high.
I applied for the US & Canada visa twice, got rejected twice. Going to try once again.

A fascinating conversation between @MoeedNj and Christine Fair, particularly on how Bangladesh managed to rein in its military, curb its political influence, and confine it to its constitutional role of national defense rather than allowing it to dominate the country's political affairs.

Why Gen Z can bring “Regime Change in Bangladesh, challenge Modi’s popular govt in India but fails miserably in military controlled Pakistan? Prof Christine Fair of Georgetown University joins Moeed Pirzada in this interesting discussion! Must Watch! Looking forward to your comments!
The entire country is expected to revolve around glorifying the military and perpetuating narratives of discipline and professionalism. If they were truly disciplined, they would not have allowed their greed for power to override their constitutional duty.
This glorification is shameful. Pakistanis have moved beyond the propaganda.

Nobody moves on the way Pakistani intelligentsia and media move on from electoral rigging, military takeovers, governance failures, and state tyranny.
Takes them only a minute to start advising on policy and delivery instead of questioning the very legitimacy of the authoritarian setup.
It's like they are trained in apathy and disgust for their own people.
A capital city of Islamabad with no newspapers because of a disputed rent bill. Pakistan's press is being squeezed from every direction, and now even the hawkers are a target.
Pakistani media is already dying. Newspapers are losing circulation due to censorship. Now authorities have sealed the newspaper market in the capital of Pakistan. Newspaper distribution is suspended. Message is very clear for the media. Pack up and start some other business.

Every military dictator has eventually left Pakistan fractured, whether socially, politically, economically, or geographically.
The latest edition seems to be ticking every box on the list of national destruction at record speed.

🇵🇰 #Pakistan: I am deeply concerned by reports that human rights lawyers @ImaanZHazir and @AdvHadiali were denied access to their lawyers and objected to the manner of their presentation during proceedings inside Adiala jail, prompting the defense team to walk out.
Jail trials must not undermine fair trial guarantees, access to counsel or the effective right to defense.
Criminal charges should never be used as punishment for freedom of expression and human rights advocacy. (1/2)

Pakistan - State of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, imposition of governor rule and the deployment of armed forces
Reports of arbitrary detentions of key leaders – including the provincial chief minister – and internet disruptions across the province raise concerns about the proportionality of these emergency measures. While states may, in strictly limited circumstances, derogate from their human rights obligations to respond to a public emergency that threatens the existence of the nation, emergency measures are not a blank cheque to crack down on human rights, silence dissent, or concentrate power.

The problem with Pakistanis is, no matter what level they reach, they don't get the basics.
General sb if I can barge into your house and take better care of your family than you, does that mean that I should do it from that moment onwards? This how things should work?
Pakistan’s military leadership sells geopolitical relevance as a substitute for governance, while poverty, insecurity, and public suffering deepen.
4 years of this military regime and Pakistan has collapsed across every single metric: Global Hunger Index, Global Terrorism Index, Global Poverty Index, and etc.
Yet the geopolitics obsessed ruling elite will continue to sell fake "big wins" and "relevance" in global politics to distract the public.
The world, especially the Western leadership, out of its short-term needs, is helping create one of the greatest humanitarian crisis by supporting a military dicator in a country of 250 million people where 70% are under the age of 30.
The effects of this implosion will be catastrophic and felt across the world.
Wake up.

"The Governor believes the Governor is doing a great job." KP's installed governor has started referring to himself in the third person. Somewhere in a parallel universe, the White House just found its new press secretary. 😏 #KPK

Proxy Game from start! Terrorism helps Pak Generals to undermine, take over & control civil administration. Once police, district administration & lower judiciary collapses they all start working under the direction of army officers! Their real target is minerals and economic resources of KP like in Baluchistan- meanwhile their propaganda machine keeps fooling people in Punjab with stories of fighting Israel, Defending Mecca & Madina and Existential War with India. Will this End? Only when people in Punjab wake up, rub their eyes & realise what’s going on in their name!
When an elected government was in office, terror attacks were nonstop news because the chaos gave them an excuse to step in and take over. Now that the provincial government has been removed and governor rule is in place, PEMRA orders TV channels to stop reporting blasts and terror incidents. Either they are hiding their own failure to fight terrorism, or the whole thing was obviously a proxy game from the start.
It’s hilarious how quickly terrorism narrative vanishes the moment the military government has nobody left to blame. And with the cameras turned off, they can quietly push through their mineral bills and strip KP's resources in peace.
Basically a photocopy of what already goes on in Balochistan.
🔴 Under an elected govt of @ImranKhanPTI, terrorism in Pakistan fell to historic lows. Since the military installed a hybrid regime after the rigged 2024 elections, it has surged.
Military control → more terrorism → more excuses for control
Geopolitical turmoil also suits their aim of furthering control
