Just received these VAD @FirstAidHistory photos and documents from @visitmalton North Yorkshire covering 1916-19. Elsie Henderson served in Highfield Auxiliary Hospital run by @StJohnsGate and lived with her family in Leefe’s Jewellers in Malton Market Place.
We're delighted that @RosieCresswell and @StJohnsGate_Abi's biography of Sir John Furley has been published in the @odnb this month!

Happy Birthday John Furley!!!
Today marks 185 years since the birth of Sir John Furley in Ashford, Kent. Furley developed the wheeled ‘Ashford Litter’ for transporting a patient on a stretcher.
Visit us on Google Street View and see if you can find the Ashford Litter 👀🔎👇

Ignore the featured image! It’s still good to see the @HistoryPolicy paper I wrote alongside @FirstAidHistory @profbarrydoyle @shane_ewen @illegalmarkets @charltommo and @M_Wiggam featured in print. Just imagine it with a nice propaganda photo instead.
