Images like this from inside a university campus are deeply disturbing. A 30-day peaceful hunger strike for systemic change does not justify physical assault....A university campus must be a safe space for dissent, not a site of violence. Rise in Rage.
Today, IIT students who have been peacefully protesting against the institutional murder of Sahil Wakode were brutally detained by Mumbai Police twice from inside their campus. The protesting students have been sitting on a hunger strike and were on a sit in for the past 30 days. The students have been demanding systemic change and accountability. However, the administration allowed for Mumbai police to come in and assault and detain the students. Students were choked, hit and scratched, and most of them have been injured.
Who allowed the police to enter a university campus and detain students? The IIT administration has shown its true colours yet again and has shown that they don't care about student voices and students' lives. The brutality unleashed on students will not be forgotten.

The state is deliberately prolonging Ashu and Saurav’s illegal arrest by using every dirty trick in the book to delay court proceedings and prevent their release.
They have no legal grounds to keep them behind bars, so they are resorting to delaying tactics to keep them there.
VIDEO | Delhi: Reacting to the judicial custody of CJP co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, CJP legal head Ratna Singh says, "We have been here since morning. We were told that the entire hearing would take place at 12.00 pm. Today, everything was complete, the verification was done, and all requirements were met. We have been waiting here since noon. The SEM (Special Executive Magistrate) was at the police station by 1:30 pm, but he did not enter the courtroom until 5.00 pm. When he finally arrived, he refused to hear our case on its merits regarding whether Saurav and Ashutosh should be released from judicial custody. Instead, he made arbitrary remarks. The public prosecutor, who had not appeared at the police station for the last four days, was present today. Within about five minutes of the proceedings, the SEM told the court that he had received a threatening message. From that point on, the entire discussion revolved solely around that message. It is clear that this entire episode was orchestrated. They had decided beforehand to come into the courtroom and focus exclusively on this alleged threatening message, completely bypassing whether the formalities required for Saurav and Ashutosh's release were fulfilled. Given how this process has been deliberately delayed and handled, I am utterly disappointed..."

Day 15 of the Indefinite Hunger Strike
Laal Salam to JNUSU Vice President Comrade Gopika, Comrade Abhinay, and all the other comrades who are fighting a tough battle against the JNU Administration.
Comrade Gopika has been continuously vomiting, experiencing dizziness, and is now unable to walk properly. Comrade Abhinay is also experiencing dizziness and severe weakness. The health of the hunger strikers is continuously deteriorating, yet the JNU VC is not willing to engage in any kind of meaningful dialogue with the union over its legitimate demands.
What is the Vice-Chancellor waiting for? Does the administration want the students to reach the brink of death before it finally listens to their demands?
The lives of our comrades are at risk, and this continued silence and insensitivity from the university administration are unacceptable. We clearly want to say to the VC and all other officials, if anything happens to any of our comrades, we will not let you sit peacefully in this University. VC and all others will be held accountable.

When the bulldozers sent by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to demolish book stalls set up by the CPI(M) were turned back by people’s resistance, the BJP took a leaf out of the Nazi playbook and sent in armed police personnel, along with BJP-RSS goons, to smash the book stalls. The priorities of the BJP government are evident when it deploys a huge police force to destroy books, while 19 people, including a child, lost their lives in Chorbagan due to the lack of adequate police arrangements to control crowds and ensure public safety... @cpimspeak
