🚨 New Training Tip Alert! 🚨
We’re proud to continue our Training Tips Series — quick, practical tools focused on Health, Wellness, Safety, and Resiliency.
🧠 This edition: Stress Continuum Zones
The Stress Continuum Model is a key part of the Stress First Aid framework. It provides a simple, practical way to understand how people respond to stress and recognize when some extra support may be needed.
The Stress Continuum has four zones:
🟢 READY: Functioning well, prepared, in control, and mission-focused.
🟡 REACTING: Mild and temporary stress reactions that can include irritability, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, or changes in focus.
🟠 INJURED: More severe and persistent stress that may involve loss of control, isolation, guilt, anger, or feeling unlike yourself.
🔴 ILL: Stress-related symptoms that persist or worsen over time and may significantly affect daily, social, or occupational functioning.
Understanding where you or someone on your team may be on the continuum can help recognize when additional support may be needed.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Randolph Mantooth, best known for his iconic role as firefighter/paramedic John Gage on Emergency!.
Through his portrayal of John Gage, Randolph helped introduce millions of people to the lifesaving work of EMS and inspired countless individuals to pursue careers in the fire and emergency medical services. His impact reached far beyond television, as he remained a passionate advocate for first responders throughout his life.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched. His legacy will continue to live on through the generations of firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and first responders he inspired.
Rest easy, Randolph. Thank you for everything.

🚒 2026 Firefighter Safety Stand Down – Day 1: Foundations of Fitness 🚒
Physical fitness is more than a personal goal—it’s a critical part of firefighter health, safety, and readiness.
Day 1 focuses on understanding the risks firefighters face, including cardiovascular disease, overexertion, heat stress, and other preventable health concerns. Sudden cardiac events remain a leading cause of line-of-duty deaths, reinforcing the importance of fitness programs, annual medical evaluations, and proactive health monitoring.
Investing in firefighter wellness today helps ensure we are fit to serve and fit for life.
