💬Aliza Marcus’la, PKK'nın yeniden yapılanma arayışını, Öcalan'ın etkisini, Suriye’nin örgüt açısından taşıdığı stratejik önemi, Batı'nın PKK'ya bakışını ve barış sürecinin önündeki en zorlu başlıkları konuştuk.

Death of the historian offers clues about Turkey 2026.
"Portrait of a 'court intellectual!', someone whose erudition lends legitimacy to power, while power lends a platform to erudition. And a society that embraces such a role."

I am a great fan of @Turkeyrecap so pleased to be asked to do a livestream interview on their substack on Tuesday 19 August at 9.00 AM EDT on the topic; "Why Turkish newspapers sometimes lie." open.substack.com/live-strea…
I enjoyed talking to Michael Goldfarb on his FRDH podcast soundcloud.com/michael-goldf… about Turkey's future ( and its past)- even if it turned out to have been a stiff competition between us to see who has the more mellifluous diphthongs.

I'm Eileen Laubacher. A retired Rear Admiral and the Democrat running against Lauren Boebert.
I know what sacrifice means and service looks like. Boebert doesn’t have a clue.
Can you help me get to 20k followers to show her we can do this?!

Many thanks to the hosts of the Doings of Doyle podcast, Mark Jones and Paul Chapman for talking to me about The Adventure of the Second Wife - but also for reading the book so carefully - and, it seems, enjoying it. doingsofdoyle.com/2025/04/62…
It was good fun doing this podcast - especially as hosts Mark Jones and Paul Chapman had read (and enjoyed) the book so carefully. I am slowly worming my way into Sherlockian circles. doingsofdoyle.com/2025/04/62…

I used to post a lot when this was Twitter. But coming back, after an absence feels like returning to what used to be a pleasant verdant space only to find it covered with empty bottles and trash. Why don't people feel concern for public spaces?
Not sure of the protocol of authors thanking reviewers, but who wouldn't be delighted by such an enthusiastic and well-considered essay? @Hugh_Pope's gets under the skin of The Adventure of the Second Wife. hughpope.com/2025/01/27/sher…

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to feeling a bit anxious about speaking to the @shsoclondon this evening at their annual dinner. For reasons readers of The Adventure of the Second Wife might gather - it's a bit like tumbling down the rabbit hole. xitter.cf/FinkelAndrew/status/17…

Seems I needn't have worried. The @shsoclondon turned out to be genial and enthusiastic hosts. Their annual dinner enormous fun. Many thanks for their invitation. Some of them had even bought the book!
