New emojis are on the way, but you'll have to wait a while.
Unicode just shared its first draft list for Emoji 19.0, and so far there are only five: Vulture, Ornate Bottle, Orchid, Inukshuk and Eyes Looking Right.
They're still drafts, so the list could change. Final approval is expected in September 2027, which means they'd likely reach iPhone in late 2027 or early 2028.
If it stays at five, this would be the smallest emoji update ever.

Everyone's talking about the iPhone Duo's hinge, but I haven't seen anyone mention the LiDAR Scanner.
There isn't one. The 18 Pro has it.
I know the Duo isn't a camera phone, but LiDAR was never just about focus. It's measuring a room before you buy furniture, scanning a space for a project, and Ruler View in the Measure app.
For a phone made for getting work done, that feels like a real miss.
