NEW: Pfizer and BioNTech have abruptly cancelled their COVID vaccine trial for healthy adults aged 50-64, citing inability to reach the 25,000-30,000 enrollments needed — a development Brownstone Institute President Jeffrey Tucker called "a humiliating repudiation of one of history's largest and most destructive inoculation attempts." The cancellation comes amid plummeting public interest, with CDC data showing only about 18% of adults and 9% of children still getting COVID vaccines, and 48% of adults saying they "probably or definitely" won't get one. The FDA under Commissioner Marty Makary and Dr. Vinay Prasad has also tightened approval standards, now requiring placebo-controlled clinical trials for COVID boosters for those under 65. Adding to the pressure, a former Pfizer Europe chief toxicologist told a German pandemic inquiry that carcinogenic risk from mRNA shots "was not investigated due to time constraints," and that safety studies on fertility and pregnancy left "no reliable estimates." Meanwhile, clinical trial whistleblower Brook Jackson's False Claims Act lawsuit against Pfizer — alleging fraudulent data was used to obtain emergency authorization — awaits a 5th Circuit ruling. Moderna is facing similar enrollment struggles for its own COVID vaccine trial. justthenews.com/politics-pol…
