A senior Scottish Government official has claimed that islanders need “mentoring and training” to make them fit for appointment to quango boards which make key decisions affecting island life.

Iona is one of Scotland’s jewels. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. HOWEVER… A new proposal to erect a gigantic wind farm is on the table, resulting in a view like the one below from the island’s highest point.
