Everything Yann said here is roughly correct, and Musk knows it, which is why he responded like a 14-year-old.
Calling @MKBHD’s video “hate” is misguided and highlights the nearly insurmountable issue the Tesla community has with criticism.
There was plenty to criticize about that unveiling and I thought Marques did an incredible job.
He is becoming a great force pushing against the growing movement in tech and now automotive of over promising and under delivering.

Magic trick for shareholders to temporarily manipulate stock prices so Tesla doesn’t look like a sinking ship

Elon Musk is the biggest welfare queen in the history of this country
Elon Musk used $0.00 of your tax dollars to create the first ever flying car.
George Soros spent millions of your tax dollars to burn down U.S. cities with BLM riots using USAID.
They are not the same. God bless @ElonMusk.

I think I speak for everyone who’s watched a quarter panel fall off a cyber truck because it was glued on when i say that we’re not super impressed by Elon’s fake sports car doing fake shit.

The craziest thing about that flying car is that Elon Musk is in the Epstein files.

News of his chief accounting officer resigning after a few weeks on the job was coming down the pike the next morning.
So he smoked weed to bury it.
Later he admitted $TSLA was weeks away from failing. Nowhere on Tesla's financial statements was that reflected.

He's lied about a lot of these.
LA -> SF 35 mins
Chicago -> O'Hare 12 mins
Chicago 16-person pods every 30 secs
Austin -> SA "<30 mins" (last month)
Dodger stadium
Sepulveda Blvd
NY -> London (last year)
...
All total fucking lies to try to suck money out of governments.

Elon’s big rebuttal to this is just a fart joke so I think we can all assume Yann is correct here.

Hey @elonmusk any update on this?

It was 2016 when I first realised that @elonmusk was a grifter. It was obvious that the solar tile that he presented was a dummy (contrary to Musk's lies) and that it would never be commercially viable.
Cut and paste a decade later with the "flying car" demo. People never learn.

Trevor Milton rolled a truck down a hill and went to prison for securities fraud.
Elon Musk dressed a drone up like a sports car and pretended to produce a flying car. He did it to help justify a desperate trillion dollar SpaceX-Tesla merger.
Please do your job, @SECGov
Musk has always been complete scum. Even as a teenager.
Don't let the PR facade in the 2010s fool you. His true nature has always been what it is. It just took some time for most people to see it.
Let’s see if the russian musk bots are back online.
I just watched the Musk Movie. It was 4 hours long. (@alexgibneyfilm) TY for putting in an intermission.) There was so much information. Its genre is documentary, but it could easily be put under horror also. It was a very good movie, but also psychologically terrifying.
I have to say the first hour of the movie, brought back memories of the old Elon. The one that my husband and I really liked. He was quirky, funny, smart, the first spacex successful launches were awesome, when Tesla was new, and everyone was excited about the electric cars, him working with Obama and him saying that AI was an existential risk. It was like he truly cared about the human race.
But then, he flips and turns into a villain. 😩 The last 3 hours he morphs into a psychotic megalomaniac. It was like an evil storm. The Tesla auto pilot starts crashing cars, killing people and then he lies about it & says how safe it is. He lost his shit during Covid with the lockdowns. His son transitioned into Vivian, and he said the woke mind virus needed to be destroyed. He went from AI being an existential threat & said it was summoning demons, to wanting to put an AI robot in every home. The government was regulating his businesses due to environmental concerns and he does not like being told what he can and cannot do.
I really believe part of the reason he went after our govt, to control it, was because of regulations they were putting on him and his companies. He realized to remove these regulations he needed to control politics. This is why our govt should not be able to be bought by the richest man in the world. The Ashley St. Clair part of the story is crazy! I’m glad she is exposing all these details. It was brave of her to tell her story. She could have easily signed the NDA and been rich, she decided to do the right thing. We need more people like this.
The doge part of the movie is devastating. Gutting really important humanitarian efforts, so many people, including children, around the world have died because of this. Halting scientific research projects, such as cancer research, that some have been working on for years. The purge of a lot of brightest and best from our govt departments, leaving dept frozen. Putting all our personal info in the hands of young kids who had idea what they were doing, who knows what will happen in the future now that all of info has been exposed. Cutting back at the EPA, surely helped his companies, but at what cost to our environment?
Watching the first quarter, he really could have been an amazing part of America’s history, but then he threw it all away and chose to be a villain. Why risk the future well being of America, especially when you have so many children? He says children are the future, yet the administration HE installed is dangerous and threatens our future. It makes no sense.
It’s like he has lost all empathy for others. Maybe he’s high all the time, which means we have a drugged up psychopath, who doesn’t care about anything but his own personal endeavors, no matter the consequences, and that same person is in charge of our government. What could go wrong? We left the movie scared about the future of the whole world.

"overstate claims about their product"
LOL what a fucking hypocrite...
But it's okay when the product doesn't exist?
Or when it involves a fake demo to help distract from a film further exposing you as the biggest shitstain walking the Earth? @elonmusk

The best trick Elon ever pulled off was to convince people that skeptics were haters. It allows him to avoid dealing with fair criticism because he is thin skinned.
I'm not an Elon hater.
I'm just telling you the Honest Truth:
This is a marketing stunt.
The technology is quite old.
Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car.
Because it's pointless.
Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them.
It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism.
His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't.
Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall.
This is not engineering genius.
It's marketing genius.
