Yesterday, SEEFF Chairman Samuel Seeff visited the SEEFF Zambiaโ€™s Lusaka branch. Acccompanied by Dr. Lusungu Kayela, he had the opportunity to familiarise himself with the team, tour the premises and engage with staff on the real estate industry. He shared insights into how the real estate industry operates across different markets worldwide, offering a broader perspective on the sector and its opportunities. During the visit, he also sat down with Financial Insightโ€™s Mwelwa Chibesakunda for an interview exploring the property market and the broader issues shaping the real estate industry. With Zambia continuing to experience a significant housing deficit, conversations around property development, affordability and investment remain important to the sectorโ€™s growth. Understanding how international real estate markets operate also offers perspectives that can inform discussions about the opportunities and challenges facing Zambiaโ€™s property market. The engagement also provided an opportunity for an exchange with the team, as Seif shared insights into global real estate trends and discussed issues relevant to the Zambian market. Seif expressed his satisfaction with the visit, while the team welcomed the opportunity to engage with him and gain insights from his experience in the sector. Stay tuned to Financial Insight for more conversations with industry leaders on the developments shaping Zambiaโ€™s business and investment landscape. #SEEFF #Realestate #Financialinsight #Mediamachine #Get2Know

This question shaped the conversations on Day 2 of the HLB Zambia Tax Indaba 2026, as industry leaders, policymakers and tax professionals explored the evolving role of taxation in Zambiaโ€™s economic development. The day opened with special guest remarks from representatives of the Ministry of SMEs and The Public Private Dialogue Forum , setting the stage for discussions on the future of tax audits and dispute resolution, the impact of artificial intelligence on the value of the tax profession and the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital economy. Participants also explored how Zambia can unlock built-in tax incentives for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives, alongside discussions on emerging developments in the tax landscape. As the Tax Indaba 2026 concludes under the theme โ€œTax Beyond Compliance: Driving Growth, Governance and Value,โ€ one message stands out: the true value of taxation lies not only in revenue collection, but also in its potential to build a more competitive, resilient and sustainable economy. ๐Ÿ“ธ Here are some moments from Day 2. #Taxindaba2026 #HLB #Financialinsight #Get2know #Mediamacine

A major cross-border energy milestone unfolded in Lusaka at Energy Forum for Africa (EFFA) 2026, where @AfricaGreenCo and AXIAN Energy finalised a 200 MWac (240 MWdc) power purchase agreement for the Kudu solar PV facility in Zambia. Designed to deliver roughly 530 GWh of clean electricity annually, the arrangement secures a bankable offtaker for AXIAN while enabling Africa GreenCo to wheel power through the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) directly to mining, agricultural, commercial, and utility clients. The transaction proves that an interconnected regional power market is already operating in real time. With vital financial backing from Standard Bank Group and Stanbic Bank Zambia, the Kudu project now advances toward financial close and site construction. #EFFA2026 #PPA #EnergySector #PowerTransmission #FinancialInsight #Get2Know

In todayโ€™s interconnected global village, geopolitics is no longer a distant headline. It is now an active line item on balance sheets across Zambia, driving everything from pump prices and fertiliser inputs to national inflation. In an exclusive sit-down with Financial Insight Founder and Team Principal, Mwelwa Chibesakunda, @zanacoplc Chief Risk Officer Mutisunge Zulu breaks down how Zambia spent a turbulent year learning to bend without breaking. From proactively defusing aggressive debt clauses, which saved $275 million in interest to redirect into critical grid resilience, to enforcing Kwacha-based settlements that rallied the currency from K27 down to K18 against the dollar, the narrative is shifting from passive reaction to strategic foresight. Yet, as bumper harvests collide with infrastructure bottlenecks and fiscal pressures mount, the overarching lesson remains clear: global exposure is unavoidable, but the agility with which a nation moves to meet it makes all the difference.
