Spotting local locations on TV and in the movies is no longer a fleeting experience as a new report shows Liverpool City Region’s film and TV industry is booming.
Whether it's doubling for elsewhere or the main attraction, the sector has seen record growth since 2019 adding £150m the local economy, creating more than 5,000 jobs while boosting skills and apprenticeships.
The city region has welcomed more than 1,600 productions becoming the UK’s most filmed area outside of London.
The Combined Authority’s £2.8m LCR Production Fund, delivered by @FilmLiverpool, has had a ‘transformational impact’ in this growth with its 10 supported productions, including This City Is Ours, The Responder and Time, receiving 19 industry awards including four BAFTAs and two International Emmys.
