How about a 90 minute movie?
Mike Flanagan says that he envisions ‘CARRIE’ as a 3-season story: “In my dream scenario, I think it’s 3 seasons. In my dream scenario, I think Carrie has a wonderful 3-step arc. It’s a trilogy, really.” (Source: collider.com/carrie-series-t…)

Spilled fake blood all over the back of my truck while shooting my movie. Cleaning it out now- but for all my neighbors know- I’m just an actual murderer.

Steely Dan’s album “Aja” turns 49 today. So take a few seconds to watch Jay Graydon replicate his iconic guitar solo on “Peg”. 💕

This is very similar to the Stan Lee v Jack Kirby debate. Ditko, Kirby, whoever, common factor is Lee in the creation of their most famous characters.
>Makes a film trilogy, works closely with a concept artist, resulting in some of the greatest visual designs of all time >Makes another film trilogy, works closely with a different concept artist whom he has to actively steer away from copying the first, once again resulting in some of the greatest visual designs of all time >Common factor is George Lucas Conclusion: George Lucas is a hack

There’s a woman in Medora ND dealing blackjack in a bar. Everybody wants to rule the world by tears for fears plays on the jukebox. She takes a break and eats a fruit roll up for energy- then deals the next hand. The slightly drunk players understand, they ask if the snack is the kind with tattoos, like when we were kids. “No, just normal”. Bust.

Most rank and file twitter right wingers and have a Marxist level understanding of procedure and process. They have never been in a leadership role. They do not understand what it takes to achieve a goal. They literally think that it is a switch that you flip.

In Return of the Jedi, Leia infiltrates Jabba's palace by cross-dressing and pretending to be a male. She reveals her true identity as a woman after birthing Han Solo from the carbonite, and tells him she loves him as she cradles him like a helpless newborn baby. Then, her female identity betrayed, she is stripped almost completely naked and turned into a mute sex slave to the disgusting embodiment of male lust. Finally she mounts Jabba and asphyxiates him to death with her chain--defeating him, essentially, by besting him at his own game, and sexually conquering him. But this is all part of Leia's initiation into womanhood. She has to go through these trials to prepare her to be married to Han Solo and have children with him. The significance of the moment later in the film when she weeps and asks Han to hold her is overlooked, or if it isn't overlooked, it's interpreted as part of a lamentable regression and weakening of Leia as a character. One reason Lucas frustrates so many people in this regard is because he likes to subvert gender roles, but then he likes to basically re-establish them when all is said and done. He's basically casting this subversion as part of a dream-like trial in the wilderness, whose object is a confrontation with certain uncomfortable realities which can seem scary to a child, but which ultimately must be accepted upon the return to civilization as an adult. There a lot of people who would prefer to stay children forever, and to live in the dream forever, and who do not understand the necessity of the return to reality and to civilization.
I agree, this is part of it (though before anyone points it out, of course that specific hairstyle also has other associations). But again, look at this concept art of the androgynous girl version of Luke from the second draft, posing with a bearded, short-haired Han Solo (yes, he resembles George Lucas, and he's carrying a lightsaber which at this point was to be a more ubiquitous weapon). This carries through to the finished film. Adjusting for the '70s, Han has the most traditionally masculine, short-cut, gender-conforming hairstyle. Meanwhile, Luke has notably longer hair, while Leia's hair is done up to make it relatively short. You can see hints of this in some slightly later Ralph McQuarrie concept art from after Lucas claims he split girl-Luke into two characters (third image), where Luke and Leia have visually similar hairstyles. But as the films progress, Luke's hair gradually becomes shorter, while Leia's is allowed to become longer and more obviously feminine. This coincides with Luke's movement toward manhood, while Leia is coming to grips with her womanhood as she navigates her relationship with Han Solo. (Interestingly, this is sort of reversed in the prequels, where Obi-Wan and Anakin start out with very short-cropped hair as Padawans and are then given longer hair to visually signal their transition to Knighthood and their evolving relationship to the legacy of Qui-Gon.)

This ad celebrates the kind of civic nationalism that was driven out of the public in the post 9/11 years. The celebration of working people, our diversified industrial society, and the pride that Americans take in leisure. Also, it's got a nice earnest jingle. We need to bring this kind of thing back.

Remembering Jeremy Glick. He was 31, a judo champion, a rugby captain, a new father. He married his high-school sweetheart, Lyz. Their daughter, Emerson, was twelve weeks old. He was supposed to fly the day before. On September 11, 2001, he boarded United Flight 93 in Newark. After the hijacking he called Lyz. He asked if it was true that planes had been flown into the World Trade Center. She told him it was. He understood then what the plane was being used for. He told her the passengers were voting on whether to rush the cockpit. He joked about butter knives. She told him he needed to do it. He said he loved her. He told her not to be sad. He told her to take care of their daughter, and that he would be all right with whatever choices she made. Then he said they were going to rush the hijackers. Stay on the line, he said. I’ll be back. He did not come back. The plane went down in a Pennsylvania field. The Capitol was never hit. He was a take-charge guy, his family said. In the last minutes of his life he made sure his wife knew he loved them, and then he went forward. Say his name today.

What is the purpose of this bad faith tweet? Kelly would say “the admin will listen to me and change course”. When most likely he’s just depressing turnout for Republicans by demoralizing people. These people just don’t know how (or even want) to win. No different than a leftist.

"Now, you remember a year ago, we talked about my teacher telling me 2+2 = 4, already a laughable notion. But, now, another one's telling me 2 x 2 = 4. So, which is it? Who's making these claims? It's not me. It's not you. So who is it? And who's paying them?"
