"Once Upon a Time in the Middle East" is a Chinese anti-American propaganda film. But it's also compelling, engaging, and entertaining, with a story that focuses on the lives of local people during the fog of war and occupation. Recommended. planetdave.com/2026/10/film-… #film #movies
When a retired serial killer gets Alzheimer's, it's hard to keep track of what's real, what's memory, and what day it is. Which is a problem when he realizes that his daughter's dating a murderer, in this intense Korean thriller: planetdave.com/2026/09/film-… #film #movies @WellGoUSA
Power Rangers return in an indie action movie? Well, sort of. It's certainly sharing some DNA, but it's an amusing "B" action film all its own. My review of "Legend of the White Dragon" from @WellGoUSA: planetdave.com/2026/09/film-… #film #movies #powerrangers
Film Break! Someone broke into an estate agent’s office and stole all the leases. But why? And what happened in the abandoned rental house? My review of 1962’s Brit crime drama “Jigsaw": planetdave.com/2026/09/film-… #film #movies #classics
There's a wry, witty Cold War buddy movie hiding inside "Mayday", with a great performance by Kenneth Branagh, though Ryan Reynolds plays his usual smartass role. As is, however, the result is, at best, mildly amusing... planetdave.com/2026/09/film-… #film #movies #appletvplus
A Jason Statham action film, this time taking place on a giant cargo ship. But "Mutiny" is so overrun with tropes and clichés that even its fight scenes and gritty style can't redeem it. Here's my review: planetdave.com/2026/08/film-… #film #movies #jasonstatham
Film break! Wile E. Coyote's sick of Acme products blowing up in his face and decides to sue the giant company in this nutty and entertaining live action/animated film with its own improbable history. My spoiler-free review: planetdave.com/2026/08/film-… #film #movies #roadrunner
Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s "The Samurai and the Prisoner" is a thoughtful, compelling samurai mystery exploring honor, loyalty, faith, and the cost of war. It's excellent. Here's my review: planetdave.com/2026/08/film-… #film #movies #kurosawa
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth Spider-Man film, is one of the best superhero movies for quite a while. Bonus: It's actually fun. Here's my spoiler-free review: planetdave.com/2026/07/film-… #film #movies #spiderman

Imagine your memory as a maze of connected rooms, a space where you can wander around and explore. A strange, creepy, hidden world. That's the premise of the horror film "Backrooms" and it's... not great. My review: planetdave.com/2026/07/film-… #film #movies #horror
Please tell us that it starts with the ditty "A Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight".

Time to play real or fake! Is this behind-the-scenes photo from "Jurassic Park" legit, y'all? If you think it's fake, what's your tell?
Niki has extraordinary hearing and perfect pitch, making him a great piano tuner. Useful. But it turns out that he can also crack safes, which might be a problem. My review of the new thriller "Tuner"... planetdave.com/2026/05/film-… #film #movies
Film break! A sword-and-sandals film retelling the story of the 7th-century Battle of Dhi Qar, "Desert Warrior" yearns to be epic, but is overrun with clichés. Here's my candid, detailed review: planetdave.com/2026/05/film-… #film #movies #DesertWarrior
