( Barret instinctively moves his head away, hoping to protect it from the overgrown bird's beak. He sets the bag down beside him, hand holding some of the greens outstretched towards the chocobo. ) Appreciate it, Tifa. Without you this bird would be pecking my head off.

You're right. It was just scary, you know? It wasn't death that frightened me. It was fear of her bein' all alone again. ( frowns, knowing all too well he's overthinking. ) I just gotta try an' stay strong for her. Once this is all done I'll head straight back to see Marlene.

I know. I appreciate it. ( rubs the back of his neck. ) Jus' thinkin' about everything that's been going on recently. Or trying— ( glares at the chocobo beside him; it keeps pecking at his head. )

Hungry or not, I ain't some all you can eat buffet for chocobos. ( accepts the bag, fiddling around with it on his lap to pull out some gyashi greens. )

( sighs. ) Just thinkin' about everything that's been goin' on of late. Sephiroth almost killing me 'cause I got careless and this whole trip after him. ( frowns. ) My lil girl almost became fatherless for a second time.

( grumbles. ) yeah, I'll be alright. don't you worry.

I'll be fine when third damn bird leaves me alone. I can't concentrate on important matters with it being a pain in the ass.

"There's a lot on my mind. But don't you go worrying about it."

I'm tired of this damn bird pecking at my head. ( gestures to the chocobo beside him. )
