Friends don’t let friends listen to Ezra Klein or the Pod Save guys. Let old, dying things die.
Alright y’all by the end of 2024, I’m officially ditching the bird app. Giving Blue Sky a chance.
You can find me there @cmfieldsy.bsky.social
I can’t support a platform run a facial white supremacist. #ditchX
A thriving democracy empowers people to shape their futures. Ballot measures give us that power. I spoke with @lizdilauro from @RWJF about how ballot measure access drives health equity and why it’s crucial we protect it. rwjf.org/en/insights/blog/20…

Never in my wildest immigrant dreams did I think I would sit in the Oval Office and talk to the most powerful man in the world.
Last week, I shared with @POTUS how DACA and his new immigration actions have impacted my life and helped thousands of Dreamers like me.
We’ve been practicing collective rest for 4 years now at @BallotStrategy. Finding moments as a full team to take a breath, unplug & recharge is so important in addition to other forms of paid leave.
You can too. We need it for the final push.

Think about it. Reproductive freedom is 7-0 since the Dobbs decision.
7-0 when put before THE PEOPLE not our representatives in government. US!!!
This is people power.
Never ever say ABORTION isn’t a winning issue again. 1/
This isn’t the end of the story in OH.
GOP OH House speaker has already said they will pursue abortion bans. They will undermine the will of the people.
And OH abortion providers will have to scale up access for the influx from surrounding states with bans. 3/

Issue 1 may have put abortion and reproductive rights into Ohio's constitution, but Republican Senate President Matt Huffman says in a statement: "This isn't the end. It is really just the beginning of a revolving door of ballot campaigns to repeal or replace Issue 1."
Finally, the GOP is emboldened to undermine the will of the people. They can’t win fairly & will go full throttle to restrict ballot measures.
OH was the testing ground as I wrote for @MSNBC.
@BallotStrategy is ready to defend direct democracy. 4/e

First and foremost, Ohio democracy defenders: I FUCKIN LOVE YOU! 🤩
Second, Ohio GOP and especially Frank LaRose: EAT SHIT! 😈
Third, (male) Dem consultants who still think abortion isn’t a winning issue: LISTEN TO US WHEN WE SAY ABORTION IS A WINNING FUCKING ISSUE! 😤

Ohio voters have approved a ballot proposal legalizing marijuana for recreational use, making it the 24th state to do so. The GOP-led legislature, which had earlier failed to pass such a measure, has the power to make tweaks to the new law or repeal it. apnews.com/article/ohio-mari…
This!!! Give @MishaBarnes1 her 💐💐💐 She has going to bat for Ohio in very difficult funder rooms for years imploring donors to invest in Ohio because they have a plan to win.
They have delivered TWICE this year!
Invest in OHIO EVERY YEAR!
I want to take a moment to celebrate @MishaBarnes1, a force of nature organizer and fundraiser, who raised the alarm bells to people across the country to invest in Ohio’s ballot measures in 2023. Thank you for working tirelessly to protect democracy and reproductive rights!
They tried to stop this in Aug by raising the threshold. They tried to stop it with confusing ballot language.
But the people of OH have spoken. Reproductive freedom wins. Congrats to my OH friends who have been organizing for years to secure this win!!!
Ohio voters have approved a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to an abortion and other forms of reproductive health care. The outcome adds to a string of wins for abortion rights advocates in numerous states since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Nobody better sleep on Ohio and Black voters after August and today’s results. Periodt.
“The Black vote in Ohio is like a sleeping giant,” said Prentiss Haney. “It is the one electorate in Ohio that no one is counting on to show up, and so when they do show up, it makes a big impact on elections.”
