I forgot to mention that this applies to the beta version beta.ficsave.xyz ONLY. As I've mentioned before, I am no longer working on any updates to ficsave.xyz. The beta does not have email capabilities yet, so if you rely on that, please do it manually for now

Hi all, I'm happy to report that I've resolved the issue with downloading from FFnet. You can resume downloading your fanfics from there now. Expand this thread for more info, and as always report issues by opening an issue on GitHub or tweeting me.

Hi all. Been a while since I checked in, but time has been short for me lately and Cloudflare has been supremely annoying to bypass. In the meantime, I suggest checking out fichub.net (not affiliated) as an alternative, which works pretty well in my experience.

I've been thinking about possibly turning FicSave into a browser extension which would probably work better to download fics reliably, at the expense of not working on mobile for most users. At the same time though, there are many (cont'd)

sites that already do something similar, so I'm not really sure what to do with FicSave moving forward. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this matter! I would appreciate any feedback on how to move forward, or whether to do so at all.

Looks like FFnet activated Cloudflare's DDOS protection, which is used as a way to stop bots from scraping the pages. I'll have to investigate if there's a solution for this. Please wait, thank you!

The beta download server was down - I gave things a reboot and it should be working again.

The beta site's download server was having issues earlier today, but I've fixed it!

Anyway, I'm glad to finally get things back online and running. I'm sorry it took so long; I was quite busy with work the past month or two. If you enjoy using my service, I'd appreciate it if you took a moment to donate to help cover costs! Links are on the site.

This means that fanfics that are being downloaded may take longer to complete. Additionally, due to the concurrency limit, if there are already 10 chapters being downloaded by different people, the next chapters need to wait for the previous ones to finish downloading.

(Non)update: the FFnet issue is still ongoing. No update from them, but as soon as I have time, I'll try to work on some solutions

Downloading from ffnet (and fictionpress, I guess) is currently broken due to them adding Cloudflare protection to their site. I will figure out a solution for this, but it may take awhile. Please bear with me!

Just noticed we were experiencing server issues. Gave things a good whack and we're good to go again :) Feel free to tweet me next time if you are experiencing any issues with downloading stories!

The main site is working now, too :)

Hey everyone, if you're getting "Server error, try again later" when attempting to download fics from ffnet, this may be due to us being blocked by them temporarily. Please use the beta site in the meantime, as I've implemented a workaround for this issue there!
