Alexei Sayle's Stuff (19th October 1989). A lot more work goes into the production of each episode of Stuff than you might expect.

Of all the British songs that GB News Music Radio could have chosen for their promo, they’ve dropped an absolute bollock here unless of course someone is having a bit of a giggle 😂😂😂

Laila Cunningham fell for the same thing that happened to Nigel Farage years ago. 🤣🤣
"And what was that, Mark? ‘I got hit in the head by a horse.’"
She really thought she was going to have her moment, and you can hear the disappointment in her voice.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be interviewing none other than John Lloyd for my podcast, The Laughter Effect. Few people alive have shaped British comedy more profoundly or more positively.
As co-creator and producer of Not the Nine O’Clock News, the driving force behind Blackadder and Spitting Image, co-writer on the original radio Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and the long-time mastermind of QI, John has an almost unmatched gift for spotting talent, sharpening ideas, and turning sharp observation into lasting laughter. Better still, he’s a genuinely lovely man.
To mark the occasion, here’s one of the sharpest sketches he helped bring to the screen: “The General Synod’s Life of Christ” (often called the “Monty Python Worshippers” or “Life of Python” sketch) from Series 1, Episode 6 of Not the Nine O’Clock News, broadcast on 20 November 1979. It is a near-perfect inversion of the real-life televised debate that had taken place just eleven days earlier. On 9 November 1979, Friday Night, Saturday Morning (hosted by Tim Rice) pitted John Cleese and Michael Palin against Malcolm Muggeridge and the Bishop of Southwark, Mervyn Stockwood, over the supposed blasphemy of Monty Python’s Life of Brian. Muggeridge, in particular, was at his most withering and self-righteous; the Bishop was scarcely more measured. The exchange has gone down as a classic of cultural clash - and, to many, a public-relations disaster for the Church’s representatives. The sketch, which John co-wrote, is one of the cleverest and best-timed parodies ever committed to British television.
Good day.
This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful.
Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything.
Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration.
And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

I know you're old...
But are you Danny Devito, Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas singing and dancing with Billy Ocean, old?

EL-SAYED: Now you've got a situation with the Strait of Hormuz where we can't move oil and gas--
FOX: That's not true. The WSJ put out a piece the other day that said we're almost at the level of getting oil out of the Strait that we were at before the war started
EL-SAYED: So why are gas prices so high?

Congratulations to Suella Braverman for her Question Time appearance - I didn't think it was possible for her to come across as any more deranged and stupid than usual, but she somehow managed it.

My Grandad was at Gallipoli and his answer to those who claimed it could have worked if only this or if only that, 'No it was a shit idea in the first place and I got dysentry and an arse full of shrapnel to prove it' well Brexit is a bit like that.
