Something like, "We welcome this prudent decision and invite you to the table for dialogue." Or, "Better late than never. We are glad you have reconsidered. Let us now look towards a brighter Pakistan together." But no! Instead, we have a government taunting the protesters to show up, as if disappointed that its own stage is empty. Perhaps a cursory glance at the economic indicators, a quick pulse-check of the common man's sentiment, and an honest audit of their own governance delivery would provide the necessary perspective. Any semblance of common sense would counsel a little more sobriety and a little less bravado.
