Aliko Dangote has broken ground on a new fuel depot in Walvis Bay, Namibia, as part of a US$2.5 billion project to make fuel distribution across the region more efficient.
The project includes a 600-million-litre storage facility and a planned 1,700km pipeline across SADC.
Dangote says it will be completed within 18–20 months.
“We want to heavily invest so that most of the landlocked countries will be able to access petroleum products at a cheaper price”
