Happy Birthday to the effervescent and indelible Jean Arthur, whose charming voice has drawn me away from feelings of disillusionment with the world, and I quote this so often its become a part of my vocab.

Submitting a humble plug for perfectly average doc The Inventor, which, unlike The Dropout, compiles actual footage of Holmes publicly fabulating in her heyday alongside ample evidence that she was lying, necessarily leaving ambiguous the degree to which she believed her own lies

you know what I love? mutual respect between peers. reading each other. respecting each other. being able to disagree without it being taken as a personal attack.
you know, adult behavior. for adults.

"That was unlike anything I've ever seen in a good way" might be the best compliment you can give a piece of art.

Now is the time. Go forth and sin cinematically for the good of all.

YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and one of the best documentaries of all time. It really warrants going in as blind as possible. But I’ll say this: What Nathan Fielder grapples with here, getting 24/7 access to someone, and end up not knowing anything at all about them is something the audience has to grapple with too. We believe the truth of what we have read about Elizabeth Holmes, but at the end of almost three hours, you feel you don’t know anything. It’s so incredibly complex, fascinating and frustrating all at the same time. Some truly surprising stuff happens in here that I did not expect and I was locked in from beginning to end.

KEN RUSSELL’S THE DEVILS (restoration on 35mm): Absolute transcendence. Timeless, prescient & ballsy. The parallels to today’s Christofascists are sadly relevant. Nothing could’ve prepared me for that restored footage (good f*cking Lord 😳). The production design is God tier.
